Thank you for your review. There is no way this apartment is "kind of in the hood". It is not only for those who want to be at the beach all day. It is great for all. It is relaxing, peaceful and quiet, but I am not sure if it was too peaceful and too quiet for you. For those who do not like the the smaller vans, the public owned buses are another choice and as you said, taxi as well. Not sure what you mean by 'quaint". The apartment is modern with modern fixtures and amenities. Thanks again.

Thank you for choosing Hopeville. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the cleanliness of the Apartment. While you were staying with us, we ensured to ask if everything was alright and if there were any issues. You assured us that everything was going well and there were no problems. You can imagine how shocking it must be for us to read your review, regarding the parking. Quite often our driveway accommodates 3 vehicles with ease. Maybe the reason you were unable to park in the driveway is due to a fault of your own, which we cannot be held responsible for. From observation it took you about 10 -15 minutes to park. Others park in less than 1 minute. Yes, one side is close to a very low /short wall, but there is nothing on the other side. You went much closer than you needed to. It is also much easier to park face out. On another note, we would have appreciated if you had informed us that you damaged the television remote, instead of your failed attempt to stick it back together with glue. We were also very displeased with the fact that our Managing Director knocked repeatedly on the front door, on your second last day, and no one answered. In fact the apartment turned from a light house to total darkness. We found this very disrespectful. We are sorry we could not meet all of your needs, but we wish you well in securing another accommodation on your future trips.

Thank you for your review. Hopeville is about 25 minutes drive from the city. As you stated it is located close to airport, where you have an excellent bus connection to go almost anywhere on the island. You are absolutely wrong in saying that it is only good for one night. If you or anyone look at the many reviews across the internet, you will see that the majority of guest come for extended periods of time. You were there for only 1 night and we are surprised that you can have such a conclusion. The long stay guests who continue to come, refer others and return themselves, obviously do not share your view. That is misleading and skewed information, but we do respect and acknowledge that one is entitled to their opinion. Thanks again.

We just wish to respond to your statement which said that Hopeville is "close to the airport but far from everything else." Firstly you spent only 1 night which made it difficult for me to understand your qualification to make such a statement. As you rightly indicated, we are "close to the Airport" where many amenities are located. In a walking distance from Hopeville, there is The Barbados Concord Experience, the gas station / convenience store, Pugs Restaurant, and Chefette Restaurant, all very heavily patronized by visitors and locals on a daily basis. There is easy access to both public and private buses to take you the length and breadth of Barbados. Anyone familiar with the Barbados Airport can confirm that it is easy to travel from there to any point. We are only about 5 minutes walk from the bus stop. About 95% of our guests do not rent a car and are very comfortable to the extent where they return and stay at Hopeville again. One also wonders what is meant by "far", since we all travel overseas and have to take more than one bus and train to reach destinations and pay large sums in taxi fares. Hopeville is only about 10 minutes drive from Oistins, Oistins Fish Fry, and also 10 - 15 minutes from some of the most popular beaches and other eateries. The buses and vans take you to these places for 1US dollar per person. Thanks again for choosing Hopeville.
