The owner gave us a good welcome and had even baked us a lovely madeira marble cake and left it in fridge along with a small bottle of Ouzo, some grapes and bottles of water. There were also tea, coffee, butter portions and ready made toast to keep us going till the morning.
We were left to our own devices after the welcome and there is no cleaning service. A broom is left for you to sweep the accommodation and we were given a change of towels and sheets a bit later than we expected but nevertheless it was nice not to have to get up and dressed for a cleaner to come into the rooms. There is no bar/reception area but it didn't really matter.
The beach is round the corner and there are about half a dozen good tavernas close by. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting a peaceful holiday. The only drawback was the lack of an ATM machine in Stavros itself and the 2 small supermarkets are about 15 mins walk. Would recommend car hire as the nearest ATMs are in Chania which is about 8 miles away, there is a local bus but it doesn't run very frequently and got packed in August.
