As a small 5 room inn, we do not have full time staff but my wife and I are are just a few minutes away and can be reached via phone or text for anything needed. We also do provide coffee and tea in each room but there is no coffee station as we simply don't have the room. Thank you again for your visit.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your visit to our inn. My wife and I strive to do our very best in presenting a quality establishment that will add to every visitor's Gettysburg experience. A few things that I would like to point out: Your comment about no central AC upstairs is incorrect. There are central AC vents that feed the upstairs rooms and the additional window units are added to supplement this. The comment about the carpets not being vacuumed is incorrect also. I can assure you that they are vacuumed daily and steam cleaned periodically. We have had very few complaints about cleanliness and if you look at other reviews you will see this to be true. Regarding the size of the bathroom, there is unfortunately very little we can do about that as the house is over 200 years old and we can only work with what we have. And as far as the courtyard, we keep it very basic as we often have families with little children who will do things like pull flowers up or put mulch in our fountain. Quite honestly, you are the first person that has ever made a comment about it. The comments about the lack of proper work and paint peeling is also, I believe, unfounded. It should be noted that Gettysburg is a small town with a very limited pool of people that do repair work, construction, etc. I'm not sure where you live but again, we can only work with what we have and I'm sorry you feel it is below standard.I have tried to keep this response as polite and professional as possible, but I must address one thing that quite frankly, I believe crosses the line into a personal attack. Your comment that "It doesn't take someone long to figure out the amount made yearly" insinuates that my wife and I make a great deal of money with this business and are very stingy with what we put back into it. How dare you make a comment and assumption like this? You have no idea what we and other small business owners in this community have dealt with (and are still dealing with) throughout the whole Covid crisis. I can assure you, The Inn at Lincoln Square is not a "cash cow". If anything, we do not charge enough for our rooms. The reservation you made was through Expedia and the net dollar amount to us each night was 178 - for a 1200 square foot townhouse with 3 bedrooms. My wife and I stayed at a hotel room this summer that was 350 square feet and cost 219 for the night. I might add that this hotel was part of a multi billion dollar conglomerate. We are a small 5 room family run inn.Lastly, given the fact that you went out of your way to bash us in two places (Google and Expedia), I can't help but wonder if there wasn't another motivation behind your review. It makes me suspicious because I noticed that you happened to give a 5 star review to another establishment in town, the owner of which has a personal vendetta against me. It honestly makes me question what you might actually be doing here.

It is my duty as the owner of this business to inform the public that we have doubts concerning the validity of this review. The individual who posted this sent a text message to us around 10PM on the night of his arrival, stating that someone had entered the code to his room, stuck their head in for a moment, then left. I immediately called and apologized saying that I did not know how this could happen. Our codes are changed regularly, no other guest staying with us that night had this code and the only other persons who had it were myself and my wife (who were home) and our innkeeper who was actually away for a few days visiting family. I immediately informed the individual that he would be refunded and that he could leave. This is where it gets suspicious. When I told him he could leave, he asked if he could leave in the morning. If what he is saying truly did happen, then why would he want to stay in the room another minute? Just doesn't make sense. We also have a security camera that covers the entrance to the lobby. We looked through the footage and saw no one enter the building who shouldn't have been there.

Sorry to hear that you were unhappy with where the tv was. Hopefully all other aspects of your visit to our historical home were to your liking. Thank you for visiting with us.
