Mastic stay

It is a little run down. If they have a cleaning service coming in they are not doing a good job there was left over stuff in the freezer, Fridge and the bathroom had used items in it. (hand soap and a bath scrub). One of the big things that I think they could do is make sure the renter get the information for checking in and checking out at least a couple of days before hand. when I did reach out to them they did give me the answers. We did not have the wifi code and couldn't find it anywhere in the cottage. I think it would be helpful if they had a note, sign or something with the wifi code and what they would want done at check out where they want the key put, garbage, bedding and towels. I feel that this was a cottage that isn't used all the time and it smelled like a camp that has been closed up. I was fine with it because it brought back fond memories for me. It dose need update. but it was an ok place for us to stay.

Death trap

This property was the worst property we had ever rented when you walked in you saw bugs and cobwebs everything the host said there was a cleaner that wasn’t going to be done until 3:30 but when we walked in it was so dirty. It looked like they were in the process of renovating the property it was not safe for our one year old. There were exposed pipes everywhere. My husband had to get cardboard and cover a spot that had broken tile and a metal piece they could have injured our daughter. We will never be rented from these people again. This rental was absolutely not ready to be rented out. There wasn’t even a trash can

Great location and fair price

Property was in a good location, Santos was nice and there was good communication. Property could have used a little more cleaning before our stay, the linens did not smell fresh. Overall good value for location and charming little beach house.

The cottage was not ready for guests. There were cobwebs, some with insects, furniture/floors not swept/dusted, refrigerator filled with food from others, some with mold. Hot water for shower didnt work properly.

Cute Cottage

Santo's cottage is cute, close to the water and has everything you could need in it. My stay was short in that I was only there for a night but Santo is a great communicator and made my stay easy. To top it off Meow is the cat's MEOW!!! I will be back next year to get some fly fishing in. Thank you!!

This is not guest accommodations

Nothing about this property is prepared to accommodate guests. It seems more like the host lives here and simply vacates the premises when guests arrive. The fridge and cabinets are filled with his food, leaving no room to unpack your own provisions. The drawers and armoire are crammed so completely with his clothes that we were unable to unpack our own suitcases. Even the coat hooks and shoe rack inside the front door are filled with his personal things. Filth: black mold on the shower curtain, hairs in the bed and shower, crumbs on the floor, dead bugs on the windowsill, a home depot bucket that doubles as a kitchen garbage pail, and don't look under the bed if you're squeamish. The electrical setup will make you nervous: there are no outlets in the kitchen, so the fridge is plugged into an extension cord that runs through a hole punched in the wall into the living room. The microwave has an extension cord duct-taped to the floor and runs into the bedroom - which doesn't matter since it didn't work anyway. The TV is a nice size and works well, but everything else, inside and out, is as low budget as it gets. This area can be very expensive for lodgings, and all we wanted was a modest place where we could simply rest our heads at night when we returned for the evening. Because this place was so affordable, our expectations were very low, and this property didn't even come close to meeting them.

Great beach cottage

Wonderful location, love the brine scented air & cattails. Perfect location for us to easily visit family. Really enjoyed the relaxing weekend. Will definitely try to stay there again.

Great location!

We were on Long Island to attend a 60th birthday party in Medford. This quiet bayside cottage was perfect for our one night stay. I only wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area! The host was awesome to deal with and very responsive to questions. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

One Night in Long Island

Santos’ beach cottage is nestled in a small community in view of the water - a no frills cozy and quiet place to spend time while on Long Island, away from the hustle and bustle. Santos is an excellent host, very prompt with all communications and recommendations.
