It is fantastic to be a guest in this hotel.
The best thing here is the hotel staff. All are sunny smiling, friendly, polite and always ready to help in any matter, which can become to your mind. I travel often and here is the best staff I have ever met in my travels. The atmosphere is like a happy home with joyful family. There is also a safety taken care of very well and has good security and peaceful countryside around it. If I come to Nairobi again, I definitely come to this hotel next time. We were so disappointed in the Hotel Troy, we left after one night. Many things were broken in my room, there were ants crawling all over the floor. The staff were very pleasant but way too few, so service was quite poor. Tea at breakfast the next morning took one hour to receive. I tried numerous times through emails and phone calls to speak with hotel management but still have not heard back from anyone regarding my concerns. I hope they'll do better! It's a pretty property.

The cottage room was nice and pretty, with a little common area with couches and a kitchenette. The double room on the other side, not so much. Very hard to sleep because of the dogs barking or wimping most of the night and very basic room. The place is sadly run down, garden might have been beautiful in the past but could use some maintenance and the dining room is cold and unfriendly. Food was not the best we had. Still a good option if you just want a room to sleep and don’t want to spend too much. This is also conveniently located next to the elephant orphanage, the giraffe center and Nairobi National Park.

The checkin process was disappointing as they couldn’t find my reservation for a while. Internet is very spotty. Staff are friendly but everything else was mediocre.

Great for tucked away relaxing stay
This came recommended to me by a new acquaintance. Highly recommend for an out of the way, tucked in a wooded area to truly relax away from the city center. Near the national park, BOMAS, and regional Wilson Airport. Great service. Internet is intermittent, but manageable within the main reception/restaurant area and rooms above. Very clean!

It is like a disco, loud noise day and night. I chose the hotel because it is secluded and promised to be quiet, but the opposite is true.

Good location, helpful staff
Hotel Troy is in a convenient location near Galleria Mall and Nairobi National Park. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, although their service in the restaurant was very slow and inattentive. Rooms were clean and comfortable and it was clear that they aim to please their customers. We enjoyed our stay and if in the area will definitely stay again.

Die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft aller Mitarbeiter des Hotels war ungewöhnlich und hat diesen Kurzurlaub bereichert. Das reichhaltige Frühstück mit Omelette nach Wahl, knusprigen Baconstücken, frischem Gemüse und reichhaltigem Buffet machte ein Mittagessen überflüssig. Die Zimmer im Cottage sind groß, sauber und haben eine Küchenzeile mit Kühlschrank, Microwelle, Wasserkocher usw. Tägliche Reinigung mit frischen Handtüchern. Wunderbarer Park. Sehr ruhige Lage. Warmwasserversorgung durch Solar. Kleiner Pool mit gut bestückter Bar. Unser Chauffeur Jackson war stets ansprechbar und hat uns gut beraten und nicht nur die Touristenziele gezeigt. Das einzige Negative war die immer noch katastrophale Zufahrt mit tiefen Schlaglöchern, die schön längst hätten repariert sein sollen

Supert hotell til jobb og ferie
Et utmerket hotell med veldig hyggelig personale. Hotellet ligger supert til om du skal besøke Nairobi nasjonalpark og andre severdigheter men en kan fort begynne å tenke litt om du kommer til hotellet etter mørkets frembrudd da det ligger noen hundre meter fra hovedveien på en skikkelig skogsvei. Hotellet er noe slitt. Det er god mat og et fint bassengområde. Vi kommer definitivt tilbake hit neste gang vi skal til Nairobi.

Gorgeous hotel for the price and the area. Staff was super friendly. We had to book another night earlier in our trip as well and the staff was very accommodating. Meals were good and food prices were very reasonable.

Very nice environment, beautiful location, nice staff. The 200 meters of the road to the hotel is quite bumpy. Would be nice if some sand was put into the holes in the road.

Bra hotell, trevlig personal. Rena sängar, lite slitet. Liten pool, nära till Gallerian, nationalparken och David Sheldrick elefanthem. Ta en taxi via Taxify !! Ladda ner appen och håll koll på priset. Be inte hotellet skaffa en taxi, det blir dyrt! Jag återkommer gärna.

The location is ideal being close to Nairobi National Park Jomo International Airport and many other attractions. The hotel is small with a few rooms and several cottages. It feels more like a guesthouse or B&B. Staff are outstanding. Beds and pillows are very comfortable and the rooms we stayed in were spacious.

This was the best value hotel that we encountered in seven weeks in east Africa. The staff was impossibly friendly and helpful, the location was serene and peaceful while close to attractions, breakfast was great. Top recommendations.

The property is secluded by a long drive and security gate. Security checks you in and out. Restaurant on site was very good. Staff is very attentive. We changed rooms to a larger room in the main building with no issue. The property is very quiet and well maintained.

Nice Place Near Nairobi Game Park
We were a group of 10 staying in 2 cottages and the staff very gladly accommodated by putting an extra bed in each cottage. It was clean and comfortable. They packed us a great breakfast, since we had to leave very early. It was very near the game park so we could get an early start. Enjoyed our stay.

Hotel Troy in the famous Karen neighborhood
Hotel Troy has many options as a safe yet secluded seeming spot in the famous Karen neighborhood of Out of Africa fame. It's an easy, quick, and beautiful walk past a plant nursery to the Galleria shopping mall. The room offered at a base-rate of about $50 US was simple and comfortable. The cottage suites at a higher rate are lovely. The food was okay and not expensive. The friendly staff and owners make Hotel Troy special. Everyone is helpful and welcoming.

Hotell som ligger ganska bra i Karen, relativt nära bl.a. Giraffe center, Elephant orphanage , Karen Blixen museum. Lugnt område. Katastrofal väg in till hotellet, gropar/stenar i hela vägen. Små rum utan förvaringsmöjligheter, fanns bara enstaka krokar högt upp på en vägg. Ingen garderob. Vårt rum låg på markplan i ett hus bakom huvudbyggnaden, allt i rummet blev efter hand fuktigt. Dålig ventilation. Myggnätet som fanns på rummet hade minst ett större hål i sig, dessutom hängde det ner långt från kroken i taket så det var nästan omöjligt att spänna upp det så man inte låg med det direkt mot huden. Själva hotellområdet var ganska mysigt med trädgård. Frukosten var speciell, de hade fat med sylt och smör som verkade stå framme på borden i flera timmar. Fanns sen lite tråkigt bröd att rosta, lite flingor och mjölk, kaffe som inte gick att dricka. Påsar med Nescafé som ändå var ok men som tog slut efter några dagar. Den "varma buffén/maten" som fanns till frukost var ofta hoptorkad och såg mycket tveksam ut, ibland var värmen till buffékärlen inte ens på. God juice dock, samt bitar av vattenmelon. Man kunde få ägg tillagat enligt önskemål, men den gången vi tog äggröra verkade det som att det måste vara gjort på någon form av pulver för det var bara vitt, man såg inga tecken till äggula i det. Vi åt middag en gång på hotellet, det tog ca 1h och 40 min att få maten och servisen var inte bra, vi fick dessutom sitta i ett konferensrum med lådor och skrivare i.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel due to the fact money (Totaling £150) was taken from our double locked room (No safe provided in the room) while we were downstairs having breakfast on our first morning, where the staff were happy to engage us in conversation. I did notice a cleaning cloth left in the room on our return from breakfast but didn't think anything of it as we had planned to go out immediately after breakfast. I did not notice the stolen money until check out the next morning when paying the Safari company we had booked. I have contacted the hotel regarding this matter. They claim no entered the room or took the money. I know this is not the case.

Dear Sir, We reviewed the email with your complaint and we are saddened for your loss of money but as we explained you did not loose that money through any of our staff. We reviewed the CCTV and our housekeeping team did not enter your room until after you left for the day, as is hotel policy. You explained in your email how you suddenly found your bag with all your money had moved from inside your closed suitcase to the table with a rag on it. This is an automatic red flag however you did not bother to count your money or contact management immediately you found your bag had "moved". We have never had a situation of missing items and our staff have been with us for many years without incident. We were unable to refund you because unfortunately your explanation and conclusion that one of our staff did it does not add up. We hope you managed to figure out what went wrong but I can assure you we have honest staff with families that depend on them and they would not jeopardize their only job. We wish you the best and welcome you back to Troy. Sincerely, The Management team.

Perfect!!!
Booked an standard room. Was nice but simple. With two persons and two suitcases it's maybe a little small. You have to put your suitecase on the floor and live from out the suitecase. We asked for bigger room and no problem with some extra payment we got a very nice room in the main building. Very good service and we had an very nice stay. Will go here next time too!!!

Hotel Troy
Hotel is in a nice quiet location, close to transport and in walking distance to a nice mall. The facilities are sufficiently comfortable, the hotel staff are just lovely. They are warm, welcoming and friendly. I will return to Hotel Troy.
