Hyvällä paikalla.
Hotelli on todella hyvällä paikalla, noin 10min kävelyn päässä Union Square -aukiolta. Monta hyvää ravintolaa myös aivan vieressä ja China Town on vain askeleen päässä. Huoneessa ei ollut omaa vessaa, mistä iso miinus.. Käytävällä oleva vessa oli kuitenkin aina siisti. Äänieristys ei myöskään ollut parhaimmasta päästä. Huoneen seinät olivat mielenkiintoisten maalausten peitossa, joka oli positiivista.

Hyvä sijainti
Olimme ekaa kertaa San Franciscossa ja emme oikein tienneet paikasta mitään. Umpimähkään otimme tämän hotellin joka oli mielestämme aika hyvä valinta. Paikka oli helppo löytää ja oli tosi hyvällä paikalla. Tulimme kentältä junalla(Bart) ja asema oli tosi lähellä. Henkilökunta oli tosi ystävällistä ja auttavaista. Huone oli hieman boheemityylinen mihin olimme aikasemmin tuntuneet mutta huone oli siisti ja ajoi asiansa koska vaan nukuimme emme viettäneet aikaa siellä. Hotelli oli ehkä enemmän hostellityylinen. Aamiainen kuului hintaan ja se tarjoiltiin pienessä huoneessa,mutta sen sai viedä huoneeseensa. Voin suositella jos pitää taiteesta ja vanhoista tavaroista.

Kujan puoleiset huoneet ovat meluisia, roskiksia tyhjennetään kaiken yötä. Kahden yön jälkeen pyysimme huoneenvaihtoa ja saimmekin hiljaisen huoneen sisäpihan puolelta. Kujan puoleisia huoneita kannattaa välttää. Aamiainen oli mukava lisä (kahvia, mehua ja leipää) talon puolesta. Aamiaisen saattoi kantaa huoneeseen ja syödä siellä.

NOBODY WORKS HERE!!! This hotel is run by an app, I would not recommend staying here. Please don’t support a place that doesn’t employ people. No security, no lock on the door beyond the smart lock, no chain or latch. Tv barley worked, shower was warm half the time, no ice machine, no breakfast or anything, there’s a kurig in the “common area” that you are asked to keep clean like it’s a dorm.

This is an economical, no frills hotel conveniently located right in the heart of downtown San Francisco, but far enough away from the Cable Car lines so you don't have to listen to their clanging. Good restaurants are nearby, and so is BART/Muni. In January, the nights were cold, so the small radiator kept the room warm enough, but little of its heat made its way into the tiny bathroom

I liked being able to come and go without front desk staff, though it felt like no one was there to field concerns. Fold out Bed/Couch in our suite was sub par for either and made for an unusable salon. T.V. in our bedroom was not functioning. Bed is excessively stiff and bedding smelled of bleach. Had hopes for continental breakfast, alas none was to be had. Overall acceptable value for price though there is a missed opportunity for connecting visitors with contemporary SF art and culture.

First the pros: clean and quiet room, nice location, very close to Union Square. The cons: 1) There is no physical key to the room. You have to download a phone app. So, non-smartphone users, this place is not for you. 2) Extremely uncooperative staff: There are no human beings at the reception to help you. Everything is done over the phone. I had already paid $100 to reserve the room. However, when I reached the hotel after a 24 hour long flight, I was told that I will only be issued a key if I make a full amount. When I tried using the website link to pay, both my credit cards were declined. The person on the phone was adamant that I would not be allowed in unless the full amount is paid immediately. Finally, I had to call a friend overseas to make the payment. 3) It was cold in December in San Francisco. The heater in the room didn't work. The additional lock on the door didn't work. To top it all, the shower did not work. When I requested a room change, it was declined. I then requested an option to take a shower in one of the empty rooms. That too was declined. I was understandably upset. In response, I was accused of being rude and that I was "yelling", none of which was true. There was a common shower right next to my room, the existence of which was never revealed to me. 4) Tiny room The maintenance staff, however, were a blessing. They provided me with portable heaters, extra blankets and told me of the shower next door. Without them I would have been lost.

Struttura in posizione strategica per raggiungere i punti più popolari a San Francisco: si trova vicinissima all’ingresso principale di a Chinatown. L’accoglienza alla hall è inesistente: si ha a disposizione un codice di ingresso alla porta principale, un’app per aprire la porta. Per comunicare con gli organizzatori si può usare una chat. Questo può essere un punto a vantaggio, dipende dai punti di vista. Purtroppo se si hanno richieste urgenti, bisogna sperare di trovare almeno la donna delle pulizie a cui chiedere. Nella stanza, di dimensioni normali, c’è tutto. Abbiamo avuto problemi con lo scarico del wc ( accaduto di sera tardi) che abbiamo risolto in autonomia per poterlo riutilizzare. Abbiamo erroneamente prenotato per 9 notti invece che 6: l’hotel non ha accettato la nostra richiesta di rimborso e la stanza è rimasta vuota per 3 notti poiché eravamo altrove. Il letto viene fatto tutti giorni così come il cambio delle salviette.

séjour en octobre 2023 : emplacement parfait pour explorer la ville . Nous avons occupé 3 chambres, l'une avec un cafard sur le lit (nuit remboursée aussitôt) Il faut signaler que l'ascenseur est en réalité un monte charge avec porte et grilles métalliques très lourdes à ouvrir (avec deux mains) difficile pour les personnes âgées, enfants , etc.... Les tapis avec de longs poils dans les chambres ne sont pas très hygiéniques.

The building is in a good location. I did not interact with any staff. There is free coffee & water in the lobby which is nice. Unfortunately my room 206 smelled rotten due to some kind of back up in the sewage. I had to keep my bathroom door closed to try to reduce the smell (window was bolted shut) additionally there was about 12 fruit flies in the room, took me about 20 minutes to eliminate those. The staircase to the second floor is very steep and narrow, but it’s understandable since it’s an older building. Probably wouldn’t return to this location personally.

Very European-like small rooms. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but there was no light other than the ceiling one, which was a bit uncomfortable. The flat-screen TV with streaming service options was great!

Entgegen der Beschreibung auf Expedia handelt es sich hierbei nicht um ein 3, sondern um ein 2 Sterne Hotel. Sehr unangenehmer Geruch auf dem Flur und im Gebäude. Boden im Zimmer war dreckig. Allgemein war das Zimmer in einem weniger guten Zustand. Fensterverdunklung war defekt. Sehr hellhöriges Zimmer, man konnte die Nachbarn beim Duschen oder auf der Toilette hören. Auch die Fenster sind sehr alt und schlecht schallisoliert zudem war der Kühlschrank so laut, dass wir in ausstecken mussten. Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut.

Well-located, basic hotel in safe, central area
For the price, I was worried this place would be a dump. However, it wasn’t. The hotel itself is basic, but clean and tidy. The room was quite small, and the window faced a wall so the air was a little stale. There was no fan or AC in the room, which could have helped. En-suite Bathroom was clean and ok. Flat screen TV and iron in the room. Bed was ok, but creaky and squeaky as it was a metal frame bed. Check-in was smooth, and digital card system worked ok. Make sure you provide international code with your phone number when booking the room, as the number is used to send your key. For us the unmanned reception wasn’t an issue and the hotel felt secure. We had a bit of contact via What’s App with the support function and it was quick and helpful. The hotel itself is in a good area, you will feel safe here - it is a short walk to Union Square without being in it. Overall the hotel was fine, but don’t expect anything fancy.

The housekeeping staff really, really wants to clean your room everyday. Highly unusual for a Hotel in this price tier. I’m fine with self check in and out and limited front desk hours. If you you are someone that needs lots and lots of handholding from the front desk, this may not be for you. But no Hotel in San Francisco in this price tier would provide you with that handholding and even much more expensive hotels no longer perform daily housekeeping as part of your room rate.

This hotel is in a wonderful and central location, close and accessible to everything. The staff are very nice and the rooms/beds are very comfy and clean. Just a note... the rooms aren't large and there isn't a huge amount of space to hang stuff. This is a great place for longer stays as well as short, I was there 9 days, but could have been happy for a longer stay, with a mini fridge in the room and coffee, tea, toaster and microwave down in the lobby dining area. If you are looking for a good-priced place to stay downtown, I highly recommend Hotel des Arts.

Front desk is rude and irresponsible, no AC, no window. No fresh air. No ventilation. I felt I am choking. Supper hot room. I scraped from there and stayed in another place dispte I checked in and my money was gone. Though I am hoping Expedia refund me.

Overall not that great of a hotel it very affordable and the staff is great so that gives it brownie points but there are a lot of things I would suggest for couples or families to look around elsewhere. If you’re young and single this is not a bad option.

Stay here for a unique SF experience
Lovely, comfortable hotel that is right next to the Dragon Gate of Chinatown and conveniently located to everything. My room was so cozy and clean. Loved the clawfoot bathtub (totally enjoyed a bubble bath). Felt like home away from home!

Loved the room and decor and proximity to Chinatown. Wished it had air conditioning or at the very least, a ceiling fan. The air was stagnant, hot, humid, and the windows would not stay up and we were afraid to leave them (that they would break) up due to one dropping on us.

Its a nice, clean place, very well located. Customer service communication / web announcements veracity must improve though... Room Didnt have fridge, and web page said it did and re confirmed vía email by their customer support when i asked them in advance a lot of days before arrival. So it would be nice to check before customer arrival everything is as its shown on the web page and working well. However the other issues that needed to be solved, eventually were solved.. Customer service was nice and understanding. But in general, a nice place, nice art, location price/quality is good too, since SF prices are really high. We would come Back, and still recommend :)
