”Overall, it was an acceptable experience. There were only a couple of minor issues- the plug on the hairdryer was broken and although it worked, there was a burning smell when it was used and the bathtub did not drain well. ”Black Bear Lodge is a very no-frills, rustic motel, with the room doors opening to the outside on a walkway or balconey. The bed was Very comfortable and the shower was great. That was my primary need, so i was pleased. The check in is down the road at a coffee shop and they have limited check in hours, or you have to make special arrangements. ”They really should invest in new bedspreads. Ours had one large burn holes in it & several small ones. Big room for breakfast & I asked the day before if this was just dry cereal, they said, "Oh, no, there is waffles & stuff". Well, we could not find "the stuff" & the waffle batter was all gone & so was the orange juice when we arrived at 8:30. They were suppose to be open from 6-9. May use again because of the price & the location, but only if necessary.”
