”The Bocas Del Toro hotel is awesome! The entire hotel is done in a nautical theme. It is a quiet and safe hotel and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant downstairs has a special burger made with the chefs artisan bread. It’s sooo good! Be careful in Bocas because there are many bars and loud discos that go late into the night. The Bocas Del Toro hotel gets quiet after the dinner crowd leaves and you get a restful night. ”

”We absolutely loved staying here. The overwater bungalows were so enjoyable to experience. The staff was very attentive and are fluent in English. Being able to swim in the water, enjoy all the wildlife, paddle boarding, and kayaking will give us plenty to do while we stayed there and the water taxis were very easy to get the staff can even help you get one if needed.”

”I had an absolute brilliant stay here! The hotel is located only steps from the airport and just a couple of blocks from the main street of Bocas del Toro. The room was decent and it had a great balcony where you can sit and watch the planes arrive and depart the island. Kind of a cool and unique experience. The hotel owner Marcel and his wife Ana were also super wonderful!”

You are literally on a remote island that is off the grid! The only place to connect with the outside world is in the main clubhouse where there is satellite internet, which we didn't mind at all bc we were definitely trying to unplug. Tucked away on one of the more quiet islands of the Bocas del Toro province in Panama, there is an ecolodge called 'Cocovivo'. Through a long chain of friends of friends, I discovered this little paradise where peacefulness is key. Originally set up as a co-working space, the owners of Cocovivo made this place a home away from home. Set up with the help of an indigenous Ngobe-Guble family, everything is ecological: yes, that means a compost toilet. If that does not convince you yet, then maybe the possibility to kayak surrounded by dolphins will. Or you can practice yoga on your stand-up paddleboard. Or jump from the diving board right in the Caribbean sea and explore the reef. Or go on a jungle walk and count all the sloths you can see. Or eat delicious food made with very very local ingredients. Or see the stars in the sky reflected in the water bioluminescent plankton. Who needs Bocas' party scene when you have the 'disco' lights above and underneath you right?
