”My stay at the Volcano Forest Inn exceeded expectations. It was the perfect setting and quite the adventure driving in the light rain a few hundred yards down a dirt road surrounded by thick trees to finally arrive at this beautiful Inn nestled in the Volcano Forest. Jon texted very detailed instructions and information prior to my arrival which was very useful as well as welcoming. If I texted a question, he would promptly respond. ”The accommodations were terrific, a great value in superb location for visiting Volcanoes National Park and Hilo area. Spacious, comfortable beds. Host was very accommodating by offering to deliver to-go breakfasts as we had an early morning flight. I recommend the Lanikai Brewing Co for dinner if you stay here- the best food we ate in Hawaii for adults and kids- also great beer and excellent cocktail lists with low-key come as you are feel (i.e. sweatpants).”

”I did not realise that we were staying in a plantation village, with multiple accommodation. I had made a request for two beds and, as it was a slow time of year, we got two bedrooms. Pahala is a very cute town (and currently the only one with a grocery store as the one in Naalehu was no longer as at 28 Jan 25). The people were also really friendly. The only thing to consider is the roosters. If you want to sleep in - close the windows. We didn't, as the black sand beach was all ours at sunrise,...

The staff were exceptionally courteous, welcoming us with genuine warmth and making sure every detail of our stay was just right. ”Very nice cabin for family. The treat basket was delicious with papaya, bananas, and danish. The 2 gallons of water were good for consumption. Catchment water was good for bathing and dish washing. Staff personnel are low stress with an easy process. We'll be back. ”
