”Shangri-La is not located in the center of Kota Kinabalu but it is surrounded in the beautiful nature and worth staying. We had booked a nice room in the Ocean view part of the hotel. Restaurant called Oceano, had really good food and service and we ended up eating breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Food and staff lead by Charlie took very good care of us and made us feel really welcome. We did daily trips to the wells and canopy walk and if you wanted to stay in the resort you could do horse...

”The Shangti-La is just a step up from other hotels. Yes, it's big and busy but the staff go out of their way to really spoil you. I'm vegan and they bent over backwards to ensure I had a great breakfast, sent soy milk to my room tweaked dishes so I ate well. And the location - oh my. We stayed in a garden room and could walk straight out looking at the sea. Room had a shower and a bath, was well stocked. Water in the fridge every day. Their Spa was great too. ”Marriott has had its best days even the it is starred still as 5. Fortunately we had booked a room with executive lounge access and it was the highlight of the stay as Mr. Nigel Wong and Ms. Felicia took care of us during our 5 days of spending in the hotel. They made us felt more than welcome and shared some good tips what to do in Kota Kinabalu. Also, the exec.lounge had the best view to the sea and beautiful sunsets. ”

”Second time I have stayed here and always for more than 2 weeks ,location is perfect being at the shopping centre . The room is perfect , good bathroom , good bed , AC and TV all good , Gym and pool both very good . The staff are the best . My only issue is that the hotel shares the access ramp with the shopping centre car park and on the weekend it can take 20 minutes just to get up and down the access ramp . and my driver has to pay just to drop and pick me up , the hotel really needs its...

Restaurant called Oceano, had really good food and service and we ended up eating breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Food and staff lead by Charlie took very good care of us and made us feel really welcome. We did daily trips to the wells and canopy walk and if you wanted to stay in the resort you could do horse riding, swimming, walking in the beach etc. We do not play golf but there was a very good spa located in the golf club so we went to have treatment there. We simply had a very good time. We can recommend the resort to anybody who loves nature and good service!"
