  • Even Eagles fly at Roche A Cri State Park in WI :) The striking 300-foot (91 m) bluff is a hard core that remains from a larger sheet of Cambrian sandstone which has mostly eroded away. Around 19,000 to 15,000 years ago it was an island rising above Glacial Lake Wisconsin. On top of the bluff grow red oak, black oak, white oak, red pine, white pine, and jack pine. Buzzards also haunt the top.[2]

Although we had a wonderful time, we were concerned about no locks, worn out cookware and barely functioning cooktop. The site is spectacular! We enjoyed a peaceful stay and the ground crew were amazing!

The kids had an amazing time fishing - they loved the swimming pool - feeding the animals - the buffalo - cabin has plenty of room 3 floors so you can have group time and quiet time. Back decks for watching the deer was awesome. Must agree with another guest comment the carpet needs to be replaced with different flooring for ease of cleaning. Stains on carpet was pretty bad. Deck needs some tender loving care.

The adjacent building that was part of the original 9 bedroom asked 1500 cash. The house has 7 bedrooms, the adjacent house has three bathrooms. I paid for all the bedrooms and they want to change the price

Great Nature Getaway

The property was a great place for a large family of all ages. Plenty to keep everyone busy. The deer are amazing to watch and see up close. Fishing was great. We would definitely come here again.

Our family had many memory making moments

We had a big family extended weekend vacation for the first time ever, and the lodge worked perfectly for the space and bedrooms provided. We had some issues with the AC but a repairman came out that day and fixed the problem. We had great and prompt communication all the time regarding any issues or questions we had about anything. Having the deer so nearby to watch nature right in front of us was amazing. There is incredible landscape on the other side of the deer pasture that one would never know existed. It's just stunning. The kids caught a couple catch and release fish which was fun for them. The weather cooperated for the most part and everyone had a really good time!!! A very fun family vacation!!!

Perfect property for a big family reunion

This property was amazing. The lodge is spacious with a wonderful back deck where we spent lots of time watching deer, bison, Canadian geese and sandhill cranes. We even saw a bald eagle. Family members entertained themselves swimming in the pool, playing volleyball and fishing in an adjacent pond. They also took advantage of some of the endless entertainment opportunities nearby, including hiking, a river float and a river cruise. The owner and manager were extremely accommodating to special requests. All 33 family members would highly recommend this property.

Anniversary and Birthday Celebration

The lodge was perfect for our family celebration. We had enough bedrooms with the addition of the cabin to accommodate all of the couples. There was space for everyone to spread out and relax. The deer were so fun to watch and entertained us all day. Having the pond on site was great fishing and super for the novice in our group. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to cook and eat all together. If you are want peace and quiet, this is the place. We were a little farther away from the Dells but we're from larger cities so driving to activities wasn't a problem. Plenty of space for all our cars and trailers of toys! Thanks for letting us stay. We have special memories forever.

Family vacation

Our group whose ages ranged from 2-78 enjoyed family time at the lodge. We enjoyed the pool, volleyball court, paddle boat, deck and especially watching the deer. We were disappointed in the cleanliness and state of repair .

Highly Recommend

This was our second time staying in this vacation home with our family. We highly recommend this place. Fishing, swimming, and lots of outdoor space for activities. Close enough to Wis Dells if you choose. Lots of games, including a pool table in the lower level that kept the kids entertained. We could watch wildlife right off the deck which included geese, cranes, bison, and deer. Very relaxing property to hang out.

Good cabin, close to the Dells

Lots to do here to escape! Fishing, watching the deer, swimming pool, hot tub and sand volleyball Court. Plus indoor activities as pool table, cards etc. Not a bad drive to the Dells if you want to go there for activities. We didn’t have many issues but the owners were very responsive to the ones we did have. Would stay here again! Great spot for our large family!

So much to experience!

There was soooo much to do on this property. We enjoyed the paddle boat, canoe and row boat on the pond. We caught bluegills, bass, catfish and perch. The animal life around you is amazing! We were surrounded by huge bucks, does and fawns. There are 5 bison on the property and a pair of Sandhill Cranes named Hank and Ernie. The pool is large and clean. We swam multiple times. There is a brand new jacuzzi. We cooked over the fire pit. All of this and close to the Dells as well. The owners were super responsive to any questions or needs. This was the best VRBO I have booked! We had so much fun!
