”Front desk staff were great. Room was one of the nicest I’ve stayed in. At breakfast on Saturday the waffle batter would not come out and I thought it was empty as did other guests. The attendant was slow to help with the issue. Turns out the batter was way too thick and I suggested thinning it out slightly. She just agreed it was too thick and walked away. Minor thing but it was odd nonetheless.”

”The hotel is definitely aged/old property. The entry breakfast area was very small and aged. It was clean. The room looked somewhat modernized, beds were comfortable. The bathroom was decent but old and battered. Lots of patching up on things. We were on the side of property facing the Hwy. It was noisy. The windows were old and thin. The actual breakfast of cereals, bagels, bread and waffles was very basic. Don’t drink the coffee. AC was fine. Was it the 8 plus rating it got ? NO. I would have...

”First time in Vermillion. Decided to go there and avoid outrageous room costs in Sioux Falls. I will go again. This was easy to get to and was a nice place.”

”They have a protective cover on the mattress that makes it feel like a toddlers mat at a daycare center. The bed was not soft at all. This place would be a 10/10 if they would have a soft mattress pad instead of the a hard plastic pee pad on the bed”

”It was a quick and cheap place. It was clean, and they had a minimal continental breakfast. AC worked, which was a plus. The staff was very helpful. You can tell they had updated some parts, but it still showed some past wear in the ceilings and walls. Not an amazing property, but it did the job for a few days.”

”While it’s a beautiful new and clean facility, there is absolutely no soundproofing in the rooms and the bed was very uncomfortable. I could hear everything in the neighbor’s room, including his 3am video games and subsequent YouTube videos for the remainder of the night. I could quote the videos it was so clear. I got very little rest. I can’t really blame the guest, you should be able to watch videos in your room. But brand new walls shouldn’t be so thin that the videos keep your neighbors...

”Very tight parking.. parking lot not clearly marked shared with the Verizon next door.. only ice was on the main floor. Pool was nice didn't get a chance to go in it. Breakfast was decent. Staff was friendly. Coffee available in lobby.. Very short Breakfast hours. Bedding was dirty upon arrival but the changed it quickly after I notified them. X”

”I have been staying at The Amber Inn for almost 10 years this time every summer. I feel like they are continually adding upgrades. This year there was new artwork on the walls. The staff are always ready to help with anything. Their Continental breakfast is very yummy. I look forward to going there next year for sure!”
