”We spent two nights in a boutique type hotel Volcanes. It was located in the very center of Alajuela. It’s a small family run hotel with a good friendly english speaking staff. Breakfast is served by your order and it certainly is fresh. Rooms are very tidy as all the public areas. You can find rooms for different price categories. We liked it very much. ”

”Terrible hotel. That same night I bought a plane ticket and returned home. I don't want to comment on my bad experience there.”

”This was a great place to stay for a night after arriving from a late flight. Safe parking. Staff was very nice. Breakfast & coffee were delicious. The manager said that Expedia hasn’t been notifying them of Expedia reservations. So our room with a private bath wasn’t available, but we were able to stay in a room w a shared bath. I don’t fault the hotel for this, as they said they asked Expedia to pause all reservations until it was resolved & they are continuing to book. ”

”We booked for one night before heading to the airport. The hotel is old and there were many signs of age (e.g. broken floors). However they were in the process of remodeling. The remodeling didn’t cause any bad noise for us but the street can be very noisy. Sometimes an ambulance would pass by. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good! Ok value for 50€/night. ”
