Pestana Alvor Praia - aurinkoinen lepopaikka
Tulimme lepäämään lämpöön ja aurinkoon kauniissa ympäristössä. Hotelli täytti vaatimukset hyvin. Hieno sijainti, monipuolinen kokonaisuus, loistava aamiainen ja asiallinen palvelu jäivät päällimmäisinä mieleen. Alvor on paikkana pieni ja vaatimaton, mutta riittävä meidän tarkoituksiimme ja sijainniltaan hyvä suhteessa moniin muihin näkemisen arvoisiin paikkoihin Algarvessa. Suosittelemme erityisesti vakiintuneille pariskunnille.

Loved the upgrade Friendly helpful staff. Noisy first room which the hotel was aware of and only upgraded after we complained. But overall very good.

We received 5 star service in a 4 star property. This hotel is in need of investment, the bedroom furnishings & decor are very tired. The gym was awful with the majority of the equipment broken and in need of a deep clean. The mattress was very worn and uncomfortable. I feel sorry for the staff as they go out of their way to give you excellent service. The location is beautiful too, ideal for lovely long walks along the boardwalk.

Die Lage des Hotels ist herausragend, der Blick vom Balkon ein Traum(DZ mit Meerblick), der Strand am Hotel ist einfach über eine Treppe oder den Aufzug zu erreichen und in der Nebensaison sehr leer. Das gesamte Personal im Hotel war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir hatten Halbpension gebucht und die Auswahl am Buffet war abwechslungsreich, die Hauptspeisen waren nicht immer auf allerhöchstem Niveau. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können das Hotel empfehlen.

Ne vaut pas un 5 étoiles
Emplacement merveilleux avec la plage juste en bas. Petit-déjeuner très complet. Par contre, l’hôtel ne mérite aucunement ses 5 étoiles. Les chambres sont désuètes (trous dans les serviettes de bains, matelas du lit affaisé, marque de saleté sur les murs). La piscine intérieure, extérieure et le spa ne sont pas chauffés, donc il est impossible de se baigner en novembre… De plus, il avait bcp de bruits sur notre étage. Nous étions plusieurs à faire une plainte au lobby, mais le personnel n’a rien fait. Très décevant. Je ne conseille pas si vous désirez un 5 étoiles.

Das Zimmer, das wir hatten war groß genug, aber mit altem abgewohnten Möbeln eingerichtet. Die Matratzen waren viel zu weich. Der Service war nur bei genügend Trinkgeld einigermaßen gut. Die Lage des Hotels ist Traumhaft. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr reichhaltig, der Kaffee leider grottenschlecht. Das Hotel hat 5Sterne, aber ich würde nur 4 Sterne vergeben

The views, location and staff service really make this hotel. Unfortunately we did not receive room upgrade with VIP status but the included wine was excellent. The daily breakfast buffet was very good and we enjoyed the selection of vegetables available with the salad offerings at the dinner buffet. The only reason I give this a 4 vs 5 stars is the matresses and furnishings really need an update. The mattress was very uncomfortable. And no matter how low we made the AC in the room it just never got really cool. With having a sea view room you do get to hear the ocean all night but I did find it hard to sleep with the mattress and room temperature. I would recommend this hotel for everything else though!

tirei uns dias de férias e escolhi um hotel na praia de 5 estrelas... desastre completo., ao chegar ao quarto, um cheiro a canos insuportável, fomos á receção e trocaram-nos por outro, bem mais pequeno, com a promessa de no dia seguinte nos arranjarem outro como a categoria que tínhamos pago. nunca ligaram e nunca conseguiram arranjar o quarto. pequeno almoço bom e pessoal simpático. logo depois outro drama., descemos do pequeno almoço para irmos á piscina e quando lá chegamos, todas as camas ocupadas com tolhas e 10% ocupadas com pessoas. chamamos o responsável e disse que não podia fazer nada... resolvemos ir para a praia, ao chegarmos, falamos com o banheiro para nos arranjar um toldo, e resposta rápida "estão todos ocupados..., mas talvez arranje um" por sorte conseguimos.

The hotel is in a beautiful spot overlooking the sea and beach. Hotel staff are very nice. Hotel is very clean throughout. Lift down to the beach is a nice plus. Bed rooms in older part of hotel are a little tired and dated. It the views from the hotel you can’t surpass.

Solid stay
We had a wonderful time at the resort. The age group was there was generally 60+. The service was tremendous. At our first breakfast they asked about our room. I mentioned the shower drained a bit slow and within the hour a maintenance person was in our room. We had a nice larger room and a free bottle of wine because of my Vip status in hotels.com.

Beautiful view.
We had a room on the 6th floor with a view of the ocean. It was magical at night with a full moon. The hotel was clean. Check in was quick, and efficient. The outdoor pool was a little chilly but refreshing. The staff was very friendly especially in the gift shop and it is small but very nice. They sell stamps too. The breakfast buffet was very good, but the evening buffet was awful. I had never seen potato chips, pizza, or what looked like frozen fish sticks on a buffet before. The price was ridiculous for the price. Lunch was good at the pool and also next door at the off property restaurant on the beach. We enjoyed our stay but would not eat at the evening buffet again. Drinks were good and the music in the bar one evening was excellent.

Wunderschönes Hotel direkt am Felsenstrand der Algarve. Gediegene Anlage mit direktem Strandzugang per Aufzug. Tolles Frühstück, freundliches Personal. Schöner Spa ( der allerdings ein bißchen wärmer sein könnte...)

Vom 5-Sterne Hotel enttäuscht
Das Hotel hat eine super Lage, schöner Blick aufs Meer, Strand und Landschaft. Kurzer Weg zum Strand. Das Frühstück ist super, sogar bis nach 11 Uhr möglich, tolles Personal. Schöner Aussenpool, aber schon ältere Sonnenschirme. Aber unser Zimmer, Bad und unser Balkon entsprechen nicht dem 5-Sterne Standard, leider. Der Innenpool war sehr kalt. Wir haben extra wegen der Reise im November dieses Hotel gewählt, da wir glaubten, bei schlechtem Wetter den Innenpool nutzen zu können. Der war aber wirklich kalt.

View was spectacular. Breakfast was excellent. Pool was cold (20C) The steps into the pool, and the area under the pool shower, had a lot of green algae on them.
