Friendly service, bit chaotic at capacity
For our first week we arrived to a practically empty hotel (just two weeks prior to Easter), with only some elderly people on golf holidays. Free parking always available, bar tender practically there only for you. Unfortunately this reflected also to dinner offering, which somewhat improved the closer we got to easter with more guests. But I don’t think that’s fair. Why did we deserve less/worse options when there were fever guests? I called the resort beforehand and they confirmed they have a heated outside pool. Spa was under renovation, but with little luck it might open for our visit. Well the outside pool was not heated, and only for the last three days they opened one heated pool in the upcoming spa area. This was relativey nice, but didn’t save our two week holiday. Plus you can imagine what kind of chaos there was when it finally opened with hotel full of guests. More over also the breakfast and dinner are far from enjoyable when the hotel had more guests. Extremely loud, two large, completely open sections, with no sound insulation. It was like trying to eat during a spring break party. Also they kept filling the buffet the best they could, but it felt like we were constantly waiting for bread, juice, omelet etc. When they finally opened the kids buffet (for last two days of our stay, the food was bad and cold). Staff is really friendly and helpfull - full points for that. But I’m afraid the chaos will be there on any high season visit.

The all inclusive food was absolutely awful. The hot food was mostly cold. Most of the main courses were so tough or overdone that they could not be chewed. Only the salads, fruits and desserts were edible.

We travelled with our 7 month old for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the area. Staff were warm, welcoming and super helpful with every interaction (esp Neuza and the other dining room staff). The room was ample in size with a very nice cosy but quiet feel which was great. The hotel grounds are lovely, especially when you wander outback past the pools and take a walk down to the beach along the boardwalk. The beach itself was just ideal, quiet, beautiful clean sand and clear water. The hotel also provides towels by the pool for you to use. The access to the beach is also very well considered as only hotel guests with a key card can exit through some gates to reach the beach. For a young family, this made a lot of sense. In terms of facilities, there's a nice small gym 24/7 free for use and for the more avid gym goers and more substantial gym with powerlifting equipment etc for 10 euros a day. The spa itself was really nice and is only 20 euros for 3 hours which I clufes access to a private pool, sauna, steam room, ice bucket and jacuzzi. This is free for anyone who books a massage too. Outside of this, there is a separate indoor heated pool which is free for all guests to use and very well sized. The breakfast buffet was great for us as vegetarians and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Dinner was also good however ony a few nights, perhaps a more substantial vegetarian main dish would have been great. Aside from this, we enjoyed our meals in the hotel.

The property was very well maintained, with a great position walking distance from a beautiful beach. The hotel never felt crowded, so the facilities were easy to use. Great indoor and outdoor pools. Lots of variety at breakfast and dinner and the quality was better than i expected. Special mention to Mo in the restaurant, superb customer service, the man really knows his stuff. Great spot for a spring break.

If Ryanair Did 5 Star Hotels! That's probably a little unfair to the Ryanair of today though,as they seem to be behaving a lot better nowadays. I'm referring to the Ryanair of yesteryear where they fleeced you with fine print and the the staff had this 'take it or leave it' attitude. My daughter had an emergency appendectomy on holiday. she was really struggling to walk. the hotel kindly loaned her a wheelchair to use. hours later there was a billing query which admittedly was my fault, but I rectified it and that was the end of the story on my part. it seemed like seconds later they where at my room to take the wheelchair back with smug suggestions on where one could be rented for our stay. silly story i suppose, but indicative of the the kind of spiteful, vindictive atmosphere cultivated in this place. there are better places and far cheaper. a real pity as the the location is awesome

The fact that it was close to the beach was great. The food at the buffet was really good. My overall comments are great except for the fact that the cleaning of the room was not great: I put the card asking to change the bed and they did not do it. Twice they forgot to clean the sink, there was still toothpaste. And the 2 glasses they leave in the room were never cleaned. But overall, I would recommend this hotel big time.

To be very Honest leaving it , Any questions to reception was met with No , the lounge area was the actual reception area , they had a trumpet player and disco music around the pool when the average age of people must have been 50 Food was cold and unexciting sorry to say every extra cost €50 per person , this is the first so called 5* Hotel booked on Expedia that has been awful surprised it on there books

Very nice resort. Great facilities and staff. Only disappointed that they don’t even serve water at dinner. You have to pay for all drinks, which is fine but they should at least provide water without having to pay for it.

- -Väldigt stort hotel med en enorm ljudlig matsal -långa mörka korridorer -nästan hela hotellområdet belagt med plast, plast-gräsmatta och plast-däck runt poolen. Plastöken. - ljudlig plast i sängen under lakanen, jag förstår att de måste skydda sängen, men på andra hotell sköts det mer diskret. + vacker strand som man når efter ca 10 minuters promenad -härlig boardwalk till närmaste trevliga staden. +vackra palmer -stor och kall pool så man har den oftast för sig själv. -frukost ok. Vårt ocean wiev room hade fin utsikt och bra inredning, stor bekväm soffa.

Nice place , sadly no where do go in the evening as the only place they keep open is the reception bar , which has no personality at all . Rooms are nice and well equipped, they have a adults only pool and area but charge a Wopping €25 a day extra personally just a rip off

Our resort is located on a very quiet area, close to nature reserve. You can always go to Albufeira town at 10 minutes from here, by car were you can find many choices on the evenning. We are very sorry that we were not up to your expetations. We would like to clarify about our MarClub, our adults only area. It's 50 euros for balibed (suitable for 2 people) or 20 euros for sunbed per person. However this amount is keept as a credit that you can use at the bar in food and drinks.We hope to welcome you back at Vidamar Resort,Best regards,

Bom apenas para famílias
A localização do hotel, a simpatia e disponibilidade dos funcionários, o pequeno-almoço e Spa do Hotel são os pontos positivos. Os negativos vão desde a capa do colchão que fazia pregas e barulho e deu noites mal dormidas, a falta de educação das crianças que corriam e berravam pelos corredores dos quartos, a falta de uma sala confortável para se estar ( vimos duas mais o clube para adultos mas estavam fechadas) e o facto de acordarmos com a serra electrica a cortar as folhas das palmeiras. Desiludiu.

Hotel is amazing....extremely clean and with very spacious rooms...and in a lovely location. The walkway to beach is beautiful. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and work tirelessly. Our twin boys loved it here and we cannot wait to retun. Thankyou

Resort muito bem localizado com acesso directo à praia. Campo de golfe em frente bem como percurso para caminhada. Zona calma ; ótimo para relaxar. Pequeno almoço e jantar excelentes; muitas e deliciosas opções para escolher. Quartos espaçosos e confortáveis. Staff simpático. Experiência a repetir.
