”Although a bit “rustic” inside and out, not a bad place to stay for the price. Best: Refurbished bathroom & very clean room. Note: had a kitchen and coffee maker, but you need to bring your own coffee. Fridge was not plugged in so lost its use for 1 day. No A/C but the nights were cool and were never hot, even when the days were. Could be noisy during the day but very quiet at night - little to no traffic. Big plus - is it’s across the street from a nice beach area with facilities and...

”The location is perfect in Tahoe City, right across the street from The Commons. It was close to great food, drinks and bakery’s. I stayed in room 8, which was on the top floor. The room was spotless, the bedding very comfortable and of high quality. I slept really well and it was very quiet. I appreciated the shampoo, body lotion and conditioner. The thing I DIDNT LIKE was the check in process. I sent them 3 texts asking them how I check in with no response. I later found 4 emails from them...

”The views of the property were amazing. However the hot tub did not work. They only have one washer and dryer, someone had it tied up all night. I had to rush and get it started in the morning before taking off. The app was very helpful to let me know when it was done however! The hotel is very dated but the front seat staff was nice.”

”The ownership seemed in transition with policy like free breakfasts being changed. The buffet breakfast was not offered. Room was clean but the auto on lighting in the sink area would come on with any movement. Since there is not a door, we often would be awakened . The person on the front desk was very helpful as was the housekeeper.”

”Housekeeping staff was nice and helpful! There is no lobby to check in or have some refreshments. Checking in process only by phone. I personally didn’t like it. I like hotels face to face check in . It felt like once housekeeping staff leaves for a day, you on your own . Not my cup of tea! It’s my personal opinion.”

”Interesting and unique place ! The bed was super comfortable, slept great. Rooms very small and no extra frills, it worked for the main purpose, sleep, shower. Perfect place for travelers to meet and mingle. Mostly spent our time in Truckees many restaurants/bars or Northstar skiing. I would recommend if looking for a lil more affordable place ! Personally a lil pricy for a hostel, but its Truckee, tourist town and close to skii resorts, thats just the way it is !”

”Room was beautiful. Dining was awful. Bland food and terrible service. Front desk was not knowledgeable about things to do in the area. Went on the onsite hike and trail was not well marked. Off duty employees said they hadn’t gotten around to the t yet. Very underwhelmed by the resort”
