Casa do Carteiro is one of the four lodges that make up Agroturismo Quinta de Travancela.

This rural tourism accommodation, surrounded by serene natural and agricultural landscapes, also includes an outdoor saltwater swimming pool, a games room with access to a vending machine and a private car park.

Each accommodation is unique, no two are the same, and their names are intrinsically linked to their history.

The Postman's House, as the name suggests, served as a home for the region's Postman.Being only one storey high, this accommodation has one suite with a double bed, one bedroom with two single beds and one extra single bed, and a sofa bed for two people in the living room. It also has a bathroom with a shower, adapted for people with reduced mobility, another bathroom with a bathtub, a living/dining room with a wood-burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen. It has a separate entrance, air conditioning in the bedrooms and a private terrace, without direct access (access is from outside). It can accommodate up to 7 guests.

Quinta de Travancela is a rural tourism space in the north of Portugal, in the municipality of Amarante, more precisely in the parish of Mancelos, which is ideal for those looking to spend a few days or a holiday in a peaceful environment and in contact with nature.This strategic location allows our guests not only to be very close to the beautiful city of Amarante, but also to quickly reach the main tourist attractions in the north of Portugal. Thus, the cities of Porto, Guimarães, Braga and even the Alto Douro Wine Region are approximately 30 minutes away from this small rural holiday resort in Amarante.

Quinta de Travancela is located in the heart of the Baixo Tâmega and Vale do Sousa regions, at the heart of two routes that are highly sought after by lovers of cultural tourism: the Romanesque Route and the Vinho Verde Route, around 30 minutes from Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (Porto) and around 5 minutes from the A4 and A11 motorways, as well as the Vila Meã (Amarante) and Caíde de Rei (Lousada) railway stations.

For lovers of nature tourism and sport, Quinta de Travancela not only offers unique moments due to its magnificent surroundings, but also due to its proximity to the Marão, Alvão and Aboboreira mountains, the Tâmega and Douro rivers, and the existence of the Tâmega Line Ecotrail, which links Amarante to Cabeceiras de Basto.

It should be noted that our location means that we are close to the thermal baths of the Termas de Amarante and to such popular entertainment attractions as the Parque Aquático de Amarante (Amarante Water Park), the largest mountain aquapark on the Iberian Peninsula, the Amarante Golf Course and Magikland (Theme Amusement Park in Penafiel).

The value of the Municipal Tourist Fee is 2€/overnight, in the period between 1 April and 30 September and from 1€/overnight, in the period from 1 October to 31 March, up to a maximum of 3 (three) nights followed per person, aged 16 years and/or more, and per stay, regardless of the mode of reservation.
