Africa is a huge and diverse continent, with lots of different climates, ecosystems and cultures. Therefore, there isn't a single style of traditional African hut, but rather, as in the rest of the world, the traditional styles vary dramatically even in relatively short distances. This variance occurs because of the availability of different materials (if you live in an area with no trees you aren't going to base your architecture on timber, for example) as well as the different climactic conditions (do you need something that stays warm, something that keeps the sun off, do you need something that deals well with heavy rain?) And then also it depends on your culture - there are some nomadic or semi-nomadic people who clearly aren't going to build the same way as people who are permanently settled in one place, but then also you have aesthetic tastes, societal norms (do you need a space big enough for lots of people to meet in your house, or do you meet outside or in some other space?).
These huts are symbolic of Africa. They are the hallmark of a definitive architectural ingenuity. To many, they are a cornerstone of the African renaissance that was inspired by what is arguably Africa’s most dazzling human creation: the Egyptian pyramids.
Despite their rich history and cultural heritage, African huts have come under attack from modernisation and its praise singers, who argue that the round structure, usually made of mud or clay, with a peaked roof, is backward and primitive. The proponents of this worldview hold that huts are not good housing facilities for people as they are incompatible with the use of electricity.
Our African huts are modernised and all ensuite.
What is a traditional African Hut made of? How is it built? Why was this material chosen for building it?

A traditional African hut can be made of various materials, depending on the region and the local resources available. However, generally, a traditional African hut can be constructed with natural materials such as mud, thatch, wood.
These natural materials were chosen for the construction of traditional African huts for several reasons. First, these materials are generally accessible and abundant in most regions of Africa.
Second, they are economical and easy to work with, allowing people to build their own homes without relying on expensive materials or specialized labor.
Additionally, our Huts are weather-resistant and can maintain a cool temperature inside the hut, making them ideal for the warm climates of Africa.
Finally, the construction of traditional African huts with natural materials also has cultural and symbolic value, as these dwellings are rooted in the tradition and history of many African communities.
