”Not wanting a stuffy hotel we opted for an apartment type rental. Full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. Having a couch to feel at home to watch TV made our stay homey. Absolutely loved the decor with a theme throughout the place. I love the charm of the old homes and this one didn’t disappoint. If I get back to Staunton I will definitely stay here! ”

”This hotel is beautiful and lovingly preserved. Every staff member we met was friendly and went out of their way to answer questions, especially about the building’s history. Breakfast at the Second Draft was perfect (get the iced collagen coffee!) and we really enjoyed the spa. The historical walls are literally a foot thick, so you can’t hear a peep from adjacent guests’ rooms. There’s even an art gallery on the third floor. Can’t wait to visit again!”

There was no mention of the two sets of stairs at the front entrance. There was no mention of receiving a code for entry to property until after I booked a non-refundable booking. ”The loft apartment was super cool, and we loved all the extra effort the host made to make it a fun place to visit. Everything inside worked perfectly, including the sauna and the record player. We visited from Liverpool, England, and it was so fun to put on the Beatles on vinyl!
