As for too many hotels, and motels though ,it lacks safeguards in the bathroom.
A large proportion of guests are surely seniors, whose increased
risk of falls is well documented. Also, with bathrooms called « the most dangerous room in the house », one doesn’t need to be elderly or disabled to need the safety provided by grab bars. Non- skid tub/ shower surfaces are also often lacking....
”Very good overall experience here! Loved how close it is to walk to beach (& Haystack Rock). It was comfortable & quiet, had a nice little balcony, & was very clean. Liked soothing sound of courtyard fountain from our balcony.
Didn’t like lack of counter space in bathroom or the round sink on top of counter. Bed a little too soft for our preferences. Microwave was too low (floor level).”

”The Old Wheeler hotel is a jewel in Wheeler, OR. The owner is always attentive but not hovering. Each room is nicely decorated reminiscent of the 30-50s. The bathrooms for each room is in the hall but is it not a problem. The views of the bay and marina are great from the rooms. I recommended this place without reservations. ”
