”Last minute booking and I was treated to a gorgeous room with a balcony on the edge of Piazza Maggiore. Fantastic location! The place wasn’t fancy with front desk, buffets etc, but perfect for a solo traveller wanting a local experience. Breakfast “Italian style” is included at the nearby cafe. The Piazza is noisy, but the windows are soundproof and you wouldn’t know there was a sole outside. I’d stay here again. ”

”We stayed at Residenza Palazzo Marchesini in late April/early May 2025 and loved it. The property is well located and provides easy access to anywhere you wish to go in historic Bologna. Carlo is an amazing host - he was very kind and generous in sharing local information and steering us to some great restaurants and sites to see. ”The hostess did what she could to fix the issues, but the listing should be made more accurate. It is actually a shared apartment with other renters. The private part is only 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. You can also use a common area that has a table, but it is shared with others staying there. The checkout is actually 10am, not 2pm as listed and a person entered our rooms at 10:30 to start cleaning. The breakfast included is at a train station that you need to drive to but without parking.
