”Older motel across the highway from the lake, with small but newly updated and sparkling clean rooms (and bathrooms) that include a mini-fridge, coffee maker, bottled water, and breakfast bars as complimentary amenities. Dogs allowed for a fee. Parking lot can fill up, but side-street parking is available if that happens. Walkable to Main Street. It’s on a busy main drag in and out of Ashland, so traffic noise might disturb light sleepers. Friendly, helpful office staff (Al).”

”Katie and Dave are amazing hosts and the property is exceptional. Their attention to detail in each room is apparent and watching the sun set over Lake Superior was awesome. Would highly recommend the Blue Wave Inn if you are ever in the area. A trip truly worth taking.”

”The manager at this hotel was fantastic She greeted us with such enthusiasm and helpfulness it was just amazing . You can see her staff looks up to her as well...The motel is just a motel But She makes this place special... Ashland is lucky to have her.”

”The cottage looks nice in photos and they do keep it as clean as they can; however, it is very rundown. We were bothered by the strong smell of fabric softener (gives us migraines) and mildew. The beds were uncomfortable, the bathroom narrow and dark, and overall, we just had “the creeps” the whole time. So much so that we left early. Honestly, we expected more for the price. You can find better options in the area for what we paid.”
