The Space:
Set within the Delamore Cove Estate, Karaka Studio offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by native bush and sea views that stretch across the bay to Motuihe Island and beyond. Sunlight moves through the space throughout the day, and in the evenings, you can watch the lights of the city shimmer in the distance.
The studio is spacious and light-filled, with high ceilings, a comfortable queen bed, walk-in wardrobe, and a modern ensuite with heated flooring. Thoughtful details make the space easy to settle into, a flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, and Netflix for quiet nights in.
While the studio doesn’t include a full kitchen, there’s a microwave, toaster, tea and coffee facilities, and a bar fridge for simple meals and morning coffees. Step outside to your private seating area with two wicker chairs and a side table, the perfect spot to start or end the day.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the shared gardens at the entrance, a calm space to sit with a book or a glass of wine and take in the sound of the birds around you.

The Neighborhood:
From Delamore Cove, everything that makes Waiheke special is close by. The property sits just above Oneroa Village, tucked into the hillside with views of the sea and easy access to the island’s cafés, galleries, and walking tracks.
You can start your day with coffee and breakfast at Wai Kitchen overlooking the bay, or at Fenice, known for its Italian-style mornings and wood-fired lunches. For local wines and sea views, Cable Bay and Mudbrick Vineyard are just a few minutes away, both offering long lunches, wine tastings, and sunset dining with a view of the city lights in the distance.
The property sits right on the Te Ara Hura trail, so walks begin from your doorstep, walk north to the headlands and sculpture park, or south toward Blackpool Beach and the village.
Oneroa Beach is only a short walk or drive away for swimming and picnics, while nearby Little Oneroa offers calm water and a family-friendly spot for fish and chips under the pōhutukawa trees.
Getting Around:
Getting around from Delamore Cove is easy. The property is about a 5-minute drive from the Matiatia passenger ferry terminal and just a few minutes from Oneroa Village, Little Oneroa Beach, and the island’s main bus routes.
If you’re travelling without a car, buses run regularly between the ferry, Oneroa, and Onetangi. The nearest stop is a short walk from the property, and most routes connect to Waiheke’s beaches, cafés, and vineyards. It’s a relaxed, local way to get around, simple, scenic, and friendly.
E-bikes and scooters can also be hired in Oneroa if you prefer to explore at your own pace, and there’s on-site parking for guests bringing a vehicle.
However you travel, Waiheke’s roads curve around sea views and vineyards, every trip a reminder of how close everything feels here
Other Things to Note:
Please note: Minimum stays: 3 nights between mid December and early January, 2 nights at all other times.
The property sits on a quiet hillside, so we ask guests to be considerate of the surrounding area and keep noise to a minimum.
Delamore Cove is ideal for groups travelling together who want connection and privacy with four self-contained units, each with their own kitchen and living area, all within a short walk of one another.
As with many island homes, the property runs on rainwater tanks, so we ask that guests use water mindfully during their stay.
Interaction with Guests:
Our Stay Waiheke team is available seven days a week from 8:30 am to 5 pm, with after-hours assistance for urgent matters. Once you’ve arrived, everything you need for a relaxed and comfortable stay will be ready, the space is yours to enjoy at your own pace.
