I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Austin The Domain Area and unfortunately it was a disappointing experience.
When I walked into the room, it felt stale, like the air hadn’t circulated in months. The airflow was poor all night, and I woke up 5–6 times because the room felt stuffy and uncomfortable. The AC unit constantly kicked on and off and never really cooled the room properly.
I also found a small cockroach in the bathroom, which was obviously concerning. The toilet didn’t flush effectively, and the TV wasn’t a smart TV, so there was no ability to stream anything … just basic local channels.
Parking was another issue. The spaces were extremely tight and compact, making it frustrating to get in and out.
The only real positive was the shower. The water pressure was great, and the hot water was consistent and comfortable.
Overall, it just wasn’t a pleasant stay, and I expected better for the location and brand.
