One of the best attributes of this condo is its location. It is off the beaten path of Avalon and is more relaxed and definitely more quiet than being in town. At night, you can sleep with the windows open and not be disturbed. And the fact that the condo comes with its own golf cart is a huge bonus. This allowed us to go places and do things that we would not have otherwise done or found without a tremendous amount of walking or additional expense. The condo itself is more than adequate, but don't expect to be surrounded by luxury. Everything was clean and comfortable but there are additions and updates that could make the unit more enjoyable. There is a serious lack of furniture designed to help with placing more than one suitcase off of the floor or dressers to place clothing into drawers in the main bedroom located downstairs. The second bedroom on the main condo floor is obviously a converted office as there is an empty bookshelf surrounding the bed, which is the only furniture in the room. All of the original wood features of the condo could use some serious refreshing. It would also be nice if there were some games or books for guests to enjoy if staying inside. Both bathrooms are nicely redone. It was interesting that the shower curtain in both bathrooms were not long enough and allowed for water to splash onto the floor. The unit is conveniently located near the pool and hot tub and there was an excellent, unobstructed view of the water. I would stay here again.

The place was located in a great spot and the view outside was beautiful. However, the apartment inside felt neglected. The bathroom sink on the main floor had no running water. The bathroom on the lower level had a tub but the water would not stay so it was impossible to take a bath. The whole apartment had no working thermostat, and had 2 very old tiny portable room heaters that you could not set any temperture. So the night was uncomfortably cold. The dishwasher was fully loaded with previous load of dishes. The laundry room was full of stuff, unclear if they were clean or dirty. We were told to fill up the golf cart with gas before departure, however. we found it with less than half of tank gas in it when we checke in. All in all, this was not what I expected considering how much we paid for one night, more than twice a nice hotel room. Would not rent this place again.

The property in general is absolutely stunning with ocean views etc. The condo itself was okay however it felt like there was some deferred maintenance that was needed. Hamilton Cove is breathtaking.

Our stay at Hamilton Cove was absolutely stunning and far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived on the island at 8 AM, our host Jenny went above and beyond to make our trip special. Even though check-in wasn’t until later, she let us drop off our luggage at the property and even gave us access to the golf cart while we waited. That thoughtful gesture made our first day so much more memorable.The property itself was amazing spotless, comfortable, and with views that are simply breathtaking (see attached pictures). Hamilton Cove is beautifully maintained, and being about a mile and a half from downtown Avalon made it the perfect balance of peaceful and convenient. In the mornings, we woke up to the sound of the ocean and birds, and the short ride into town on the golf cart was such a fun experience. Along the way, we even had deer come right up to us and eat from our hands such a magical memory.We can’t thank Jenny enough for being such a wonderful host and making everything so seamless. We are already excited to come back and stay at this incredible property again. Highly, highly recommend!

Hamilton Cove vacation

We had a wonderful time on Catalina!! Property was great (views, close to pool, fitness center etc). Very comfortable condo.The only problem we had was with the golf cart. Need better instructions. Had to have the brakes serviced while we were there. Downstairs toilet kept running. One of us fixed temporarily. Would stay again. Thank you.

We had a very pleasant time at the hotel. The environment was very beautiful and clean. The golf carts made traveling convenient. The children had a great time in the swimming pool. There was also a beach and slides. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Great place

The views are amazing, it almost feels like you're on the Mediterranean coast or something. Plan on getting a taxi when you arrive, the walk is doable, but you have walk up a pretty steep hill...don't waste time walking, the taxi ride was only 4.00 per person and very quick. Once you're there the golf cart makes it really easy to get around town. The place is really comfortable; decorated nicely and makes you feel at home. I would definitely stay here again!

My family loved staying here. Beautiful condo and lots of activities right in the complex with tennis, putting, pool and beach all right there. The beds was incredibly comfortable. We had breakfast on the balcony every morning watching all the boats and parasailers. We also really enjoyed using the grill in the evenings. The kitchen needs some attention, it's time to replace the pots, pans, and knives. That being said, it was a fantastic place for a small family!

Catalina getaway

We made a long weekend out of our visit to Catalina Island and had a great time. The unit had beautiful views of the sunrise each morning and had a nice pool to relax around in the afternoons. The golf cart was a nice addition and worked great throughout our stay. The unit could use a few more kitchen utensils and pots/pans but we made do. Also, the main fridge was not working very well and it would have been nice to know this in advance but unfortunately nobody said anything about it until I questioned it the the second day.

Things we liked: Golf cart access, location on island, proximity to the pool/spa, views!!!, ease of check in, being able to take the golf cart at 1pm, views!!!, bbq, amenities in the common areas.Things to improve: More utensils, bowls, plates and glasses. Seemed like they were a mismash of random things. Fridge was broken but not communicated to us (there was a small fridge plugged in blocked walkway to kitchen). Only one key provided (clarified this with the management- they started to only provide one key because the other one kept accidentally being taken by people) The 2 middle seat Golf cart seatbelts were broken- no seatbelts in back row (sounded like management was not aware, offered to fix them during our stay but when we told them we were back and ready for repair, we heard nothing else from management for rest of trip despite multiple further inquiries).TV has just basic cable, no netflix capabilities. We were fine with the stairs but i heard alot of reviews talking about how they would of liked to have been warned that there were no elevators. No welcome book explaining procedures or giving advice for the island (only time ive rented a place on vrbo/air b n b that didn’t have one). No beach supplies, kids games, books/magazines what so ever- again- every place we’ve stayed at in the past has provided these. Overall tho, a GORGEOUS place to stay!

Great location. Be willing and able to do lots of stairs as it is on a hillside. Golf cart was a great addition. Property seemed to have been hurriedly cleaned and the fridge didn’t work. We were given a mini fridge instead which wasn’t great for groceries for our family of four. Overall we loved the location but unit could use updating and a deep cleaning.
