”I've stayed at El Rey many times, and I always enjoy it. The rooms are large and smartly decorated, there are many fun events that regularly occur on the property, and everything is well maintained. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, although the bartenders at La Reina seem to favor local patrons and can sometimes be aloof. The La Reina Mesita foodtruck is a bit hit-or-miss, but is nonetheless convenient. Overall, it's a fun place with great amenities and is centrally-located....

”I didn’t visit the pool or the bar. The staff provided minimal effort. It is not a leisure resort by any means. It’s more of a motel feel. I had a suite and it needed to be updated in every possible way. It was very incredibly dark, even when all lights were on and the blinds open. I will not stay here again. I booked the hotel as it was away from The Plaza area, to have freedom of self parking. The location was fine.”

”This was a charming vintage property, conveniently located in Santa Fe. Our bed was comfortable and there was a skylight which was an unexpected surprise. It bathed the spacious room in natural light. Parking in the carport right next to our door was a huge plus, and though it was off a main road, the room was quiet (must be those old thick walls). We would certainly stay here again and recommend it as a great budget option for Santa Fe visitors.”

”Pool is closed indefinitely. Sure, they say they advertised that on their main website, but who books through main websites anymore, when 3rd party discount booking sites exist? The pool closure was NOT disclosed on Expedia. Highly disappointed in that, since the safety/pool/breakfast are the top 3 things I need in a hotel when I’m traveling w my kids. They need a place to burn their energy before bed.
Other than that, breakfast was well stocked and had a nice variety of items, the hotel...

”The 1st room we were put in the TV was broken, the phone didn't work, the drains in the tub and sink didn't drain, the bathroom fan also didn't work. Also, the AC didn't cool the room and the outdoor temp was over 100 degrees, in room temp was 78 degrees. Changed rooms, in new room, bathroom fan didn't work, there was no toilet paper holder or toilet paper, also, AC didn't keep room cool. Even though front desk said to set it at 65 or 72 so that it wouldn't freeze up.”
