Welcome to Altstadt-Loft, the compact loft accommodation by Bacchus Holiday Homes in the heart of Bacharach’s historic Old Town.

The loft is suitable for couples, small families and friends travelling together, with space for up to four guests. It combines half-timbered character, an open gallery, short walking distances and views towards Stahleck Castle with a central location in the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley.

24/7 service in the same building

A special feature is the Bacchus Traveller Hub Bacharach on the ground floor of the same building. This 24-hour self-service area offers chilled drinks, snacks, selected travel essentials, and digital information and inspiration for Bacharach and the Middle Rhine Valley.

The Traveller Hub is shared and open to the public and is not an exclusive part of the loft. For our guests, however, it provides convenient supplies and travel information directly in the building, including outside normal shop opening hours.

Layout and amenities

Altstadt-Loft offers:

The loft is particularly comfortable for two guests and can flexibly accommodate up to four people. The sleeping spaces are divided between the separate bedroom and the additional sleeping area on the open gallery.

The gallery is reached via a steep wooden staircase. It is therefore only partly suitable for small children and guests with limited mobility.

Historic Old Town location

Access is via a historic, very narrow lane and then through the shared stairwell of the half-timbered building. This type of access is typical of Bacharach’s medieval Old Town and forms part of the property’s special character.

The Rhine promenade, train station, boat landing, restaurants, wine taverns, bakery and RheinBurgenWeg hiking trail are all within easy walking distance. Due to the historic Old Town location, there is no private parking space directly at the property.

Bacharach as your Middle Rhine base

From Altstadt-Loft, guests can explore the Rhine, castles, wine villages, hiking trails and river cruises from one fixed base.

The RheinBurgenWeg hiking trail, Stahleck Castle and the Rhine promenade are located directly in or close to Bacharach. Day trips to the Loreley, Kaub, Oberwesel, St. Goar, Bingen, Rüdesheim, Boppard and Koblenz are also possible by train, boat or car.
