”I booked a two night stay due to my air conditioning at home wasn’t working and the HVAC guys couldn’t be there for a couple of days. (We’ve been experiencing higher than normal temperatures in the area this week) The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I’ve seen other reviews stating the rooms were decorated in an “outdated fashion.” Maybe it’s just me but, as long as the furniture is in good shape, the bed is comfortable, and the tv works, I don’t care if the decor is “out of date.”...

”The James river hotel formally the King James is almost historical in Newport News. The hotel has been through VERY ROUGH times of people it's time in business. Overall it has truly stood the TEST OF TIME. The age of the rooms would be a five on my scale. However other than that I will stay again as I have done for over 40 years. God bless ”

”The staff was very helpful when our TV wasn't working and when we couldn't figure out our AC. They even helped with our toilet and cleaned and replaced our towels while doing so. And our light under the microwave needed to be replaced too. I thought you guys provided things like silverware, plates, cups etc... but I was wrong. I wish we'd still had a lamp or some kind of light at or near the dinner table as it's too dark for me. The only other thing is the 50 dollar deposit when checking in. I...
