Its secluded location is on the outskirts of Bad Urach in the Biosphere area, 2 km from the town centre in the Seeburger Valley and adjacent to the event location Künkele Kunstmühle. Kiwi Retreat is surrounded nature, located in a huge garden, the Erms River running behind the property, and a vast number of forest trails and clifftop lookouts just begging to be hiked. The rooms are decorated with photographs of special places in New Zealand, which, together with mostly solid wood furniture, make the flat feel very natural.

Supermarkets, shops and bakeries are located between Kiwi Retreat and the historic town centre. Bad Urach is a spa town with many attractions such as the Albtherme, an outdoor 50 m swimming pool with views directly across to a ruined castle, a Kneipp pool, and some of Germany’s most beautiful hiking paths. Waterfalls (Uracher & Gütersteiner), caving (Falkensteiner Höhle), canoeing (Lautertal), Hohen Wittlingen & Wolfsschlucht, Höllenlöcher, Ermsquelle, Hohen Urach offer many outdoor activities and boundless hiking and biking from the property. The area offers many gastronomic delights. The train station and tourist information centre are located in Bad Urach (1.7 km) and buses pass the house regularly (nearest bus stop 200 m). Stuttgart airport is 37 km away. There is off-street parking at the property.
