Rustic home

The rustic home was well equipped for a family. However, I was charged a VRBO fee by the rental company and by VRBO directly. Not sure why this was done. Can someone check on this for me? Thanks

Convenient to slope

House was nice. I would rent it again. Nothing super negative but I will give suggestions hoping owner reads these reviews. 1.) cleaners missed big dust bunny hanging from ceiling in kitchen should have stuck broom up there and grabbed it.2.) not major but I would have all caulking redone in master shower and going forward have cleaner spray 50/50 water Clorox to keep clean. Little bit of mold in the older caulk. Maybe other bath too. Again it wasn’t major.3.) master bed was comfortable. Kids said other two mattresses were hard as a rock. Might want to consider swapping those two out.4.) furniture in living room needs to be changed out. I am tired and been skiing all day want to relax. Need three nice recliners and a new couch. 5.) swap out some outlets in the living room,kitchen and bed rooms that have usb for phone chargers. 6.) put a rinnai on demand hot water heater in. If everybody was talking a shower back to back I could see this being a problem. 7.) I had to lock in 4 wheel drive to get in and out of driveway. Might consider having driveway scraped before rental after a big snow.Not to be misunderstood I will rent here next year. These are just things I think need to be addressed at some point. Furniture being my top priority out of these. Location to slope if you are skiing is what makes this a great rental.

Perfect location for resort

House was very clean and very accommodating for 3 couples with 3 full baths! Loved the two car garage also! We requested to have our driveway salted and it was done within the hour. We walked to the snow tubing and were able to avoid the parking. I literally have no complaints we would definitely stay again!

Great house

Great house in a perfect location for a short ski vacation. The bedrooms with their own attached bathrooms were a great set up for travel with extended family. Very close to Sugar Mountain lodge. I walked over a time or two, but you do have to be careful because there are no sidewalks. Still, a great option if you want to avoid the craziness of parking on busy days at Sugar. Would stay again!

Great New Years Ski Trip

Excellent experience renting this property. The house had everything that we needed for a ski trip with family. Plenty of room, nice laundry room for ski clothes and changing, kitchen was stocked with everything you needed to prepare meals. Short walk to ski lodge, ice skating ,and tubing.

Great rental. Great location for Sugar Mnt.

The house was clean and had everything we needed to make full meals for a group of 5 after a long day on the slopes. Huge garage that fit 2 large SUVs. Every room had a bathroom which is a huge plus! Highly recommend this rental for families/groups visiting Sugar Mnt.

Perfect house!

This is the best VRBO we have ever rented. The house is so nice, very clean, well stocked and furnished, within walking distance of Sugar Ski slope. Wonderful accommodation!

Great property and location.

Overall the property looked exactly like the photos, there was no photoshopping. I liked how the garage was huge, if you came with a few cars, you could definitely fit them all in the garage. The only thing I did not like was the lock on the front door, you needed the key to both enter/exit the property which seemed odd to my girlfriend and I. TV in the main living room had Netflix and a great sound system. Overall would rent here again if I visited sugar mountain again.

Fun time for all!

The home was very clean and stocked with all the essentials just as described in the details. You would definitely need a 4wheel drive when it snows. During our stay it snowed three times and made it very difficult to get out of the driveway, but who’s complaining if you go in the winter months snow is what you’re looking for right LOL. Thankfully Lowes foods is very near and they delivery for a small fee. We were just a small walk away from the slopes, tubing, ice skating and all the attractions in area of the ski slopes. The back yard has a very nice sledding hill which was great for the kids since the ski slopes do tend to get very busy! The local food lion at the end of sugar rd had the sleds. The garage is definitely a plus since it snowed, and we didn’t have to scrape ice of the vehicles and also the kids could take their snow gear off out there and not come in getting the floor wet. The only thing I would add to the garage would be a larger coat hanging rack they have a very small one, but it was not large enough for ski suits. The kitchen was great, everything you need to cook a meal or just to heat up a quick frozen dinner in the oven. I fell in love with the cabinets! They have a crock pot that came in handy for homemade soup after a long day on the slopes! The living room has very comfortable seating for night time movies and a large dining table for an afternoon of family board or card games. Over all we had a great stay, the home and area were awesome. The only thing I didn’t like was the large (refundable if no damages) deposit that takes a while to post back to your account. Will absolutely stay here if we go back to sugar for skiing and will/have recommended it to friends!

Amazing location

We loved this property and its location. You can walk to the ski resort (Sugar Mountain) and there is a private sledding hill just beyond the backyard! This was super amazing given the long lines and limited parking at Sugar Mountain. The grocery store and Banner Elk restaurants were only a few minutes away too. The house was super cozy with its big windows, fireplace and deep soaking tub in the master bedroom. We also saw lots of wildlife in the backyard Which was a nice bonus. We look Forward to booking this property again next year.
