Relaxing 2 bedroom river side home. Home located in Banner Elk, NC

148 River Rd 2 Banner Elk. Located in Mill Ridge subdivision with access to tennis court,seasonal pool, fishing, and small waterfall right out the back door (depending on river water level).

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful cozy cottage on the river, with electric fireplace, baseboard heat and personal room portable heaters. Beautiful French doors in the living room to enjoy the view.

Enjoy the rushing sounds of the river while sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee in the rocking chairs or having dinner. Creek is fishable when water levels permit.

Firepit situated right on the creek.

Second bedroom, guest favorite, has wall of windows for amazing view of creek and private entrance from porch.

Location was convenient for skiing Sugar. The home doesn’t have central heating or air so it might be too cold or too hot, depending on the season. They have many blankets for the bed rooms but could use an addition of a space heater in the living area. There are not blackout curtains in the bedrooms and the blinds aren’t enough to block out the street lights so be aware if you’re light sensitive.

We enjoyed our overnight stay here. It was peaceful and in a beautiful setting. It is an older building, nothing fancy, but totally adequate for an overnight stay.Communication about how to get in came a little late, but once we received the instructions, everything was fine.

The location is perfect to visit Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk. All within 30 minutes. I can imagine it is peaceful however there was construction going on for retention pond or perhaps to fix flooding damage. 8am start time. Hopefully that will completed soon. The inside of cabin was awesome, super clean, everything you'd need.....but outside was in need of maintenance. The stairs to creek were unable to be used (could have been flooding issue). The owner handles for her Mom and lives out of state, so as a landlord myself, I sent her pictures of what I felt were issues as well as suggestions to update photos so future guests aren't surprised that cabin doesn't look at pristine as pictures online. She was very greatful and appreciated the input. I would DEFINITELY rent this cabin again.

This is a little slice of heaven in the mountains. It has everything you need to have a wonderful stay. The location is great and close to every where in the area. The neighborhood is quite and the creek behind the house is simply everything. The magic of this place can not be expressed fully. The owner was prompt with communicating with me and was helpful. I will definitely be back

Great Location

Loved being right on the river. The swing was a great place to sit and listen and be at peace. Would suggest repairing the screens on the windows and doors, as it would be a huge draw to be able to have those open when the weather is nice without fear of bugs. Overall, though, it was a fabulous retreat and I would definitely consider coming back again.

Entire place should be rebuilt and clean.Bathroom unacceptable.If you look at the back yard, there is a lot of trash.No laundry, place is too tight. Only internet access is good.Living room furniture is good,

The location was great and easy to access. The river is lovely and we enjoyed walking down the rocky bank. In hindsight, the house is catering to skiers, because there is no air conditioning. That really should be disclosed. I would also suggest updating the bath linens, and invest in a frying pan. There were ants in the kitchen, a common problem we all have, but just wanted you to be aware. The porch and outdoor seating were extremely dirty, and not able to be used.

I had to ask the property manager for the access code, which is typically provided proactively by other managers. The property was also not cleaned, as evidenced by the dirty bathroom, one of the beds not being changed, and the smelly food in the refrigerator.

Weekend Stay

This place was had everything we needed. We visited Blowing Rock, Boone and Grandfather Mtn and it was a short drive to all. We enjoyed a fire in the outdoor fire pit while listening to the river.

It's older and it's small, but we had a great time there. Grandkids loved the river and the swing over the water. They chose that over the community pool! The mattresses were great, very important for us grandparents!

Beautiful little place for the family to get away. Kids loved the creek, riding the scooters and the swing. Nice back porch with rocking chairs to just enjoy the view. Would definitely stay here again in the future! Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to make memories and just enjoy each other!!

Cute River Cabin

Cozy cabin. Great location. Loved the river views. Only cons were that the coffee maker was missing the insert where the coffee goes, so we couldn't make coffee. And the hot water doesn't last very long. Otherwise, very cute and convenient. The fire place made the entire cabin warm and was a great addition. Would stay again.

Pleasant Stay for a short visit

Older home, very small kitchen, nice fireplace and having the stream behind the house was relaxing. Easy drive to Boone, and beds were comfortable. Shortfall was lack of TV stations as we wanted to watch some College Football on Saturday and NFL on Sunday. Could not log into our streaming service as the Roku required a PIN which had not been set up.

2023 Mountain Trip

The only thing there was some old used doors at the back of the house propped up at a tree that wasn't very nice for the view of the river. That's all. Every thing was very nice and we would stay there again.
