”Waste of money. The hotel is only fully operational on the weekends. On weekdays, it functions like an Airbnb. This was never mentioned or communicated in advance, even though I spoke with someone on the phone to inquire about bringing my dog. Imagine my surprise to show up to a completely empty hotel. ”There was no one there to check me in upon arrival! A closed sign on the office, pushed the button on there intercom system & all it did was ring, nobody ever answered. I called the phone # to no avail. The next day upon check in I was asked for a $100. deposit, of which I was unaware of. When asked why they were closed when I arrived the previous night the girl at the counter said, “I didn’t work last night”, no accountability was taken! There was mold in the shower & a non working coffee maker...

”This is our second stay at the National Hotel. The property is charming and historic; however, both times, the staff have been unfriendly and seemed bothered by simple requests. We were not alone in the process.”

”Julie and Ron were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcomed. The room was elegant with a very comfortable bed and huge closet. It was a very quiet stay. The inn was close to shopping and fine dining. However, there was no surface space on which to put things. There were no shelves and only a small dresser in the closet. The only surface was the bed. We constantly lived out of our bags. One must be healthy and mobile to get to the patio or to the refrigerator.”
