The castle stands on a hill on the left bank of the Vag river in the village of Betzkov The castle was first mentioned in the chronicle of the XII century. In the 13th century, a stone castle was built on the site of the original wooden castle. In the XIV-XV centuries, the castle was rebuilt by the owners, the Stibor family, one of the most influential families of Hungary. In the XVI century, due to the constant danger of Turkish raids, the fortifications of the castle were strengthened. In the XVII century, the castle lost its significance. In 1727, a fire broke out and the castle was abandoned by the owners.

A good hotel with AC in City Center
A nice hotel in the City Center. During the hot August AC was great! The pool was very small and expensive: 10 euros to get an opportunity for quick swim. Just few vegan options at the breakfast, same situation in most of the restaurants in Trencin.

Très bel endroit juste à côté de la rivière et du lac. J'ai passé un agréable moment dans un appartement frais et confortable. De plus, Matus, le propriétaire est très sympathique, de bons conseils et arrangeant en cas de besoin.
