”Love the old building, such a great piece of history for Berkeley. The architecture and pool were amazing. Plus the little quiet green space courtyard. Staff all very friendly. The room was comfortable and quaint. Great location too. Only downside was construction a few doors down, which started very early. And some college kids doing some workout chanting at 6:30 but you can’t fault the property for those. ”
”We were greeted at the desk as we walked in with a gentleman that was so polite, informative, and very helpful. The housekeeper was so nice and provided us with everything we needed. There was a new employee at the desk, but she was informative and gave us info on things to do and greatplaces to shop. If I come back out here to San Francisco, I will definitely stay here again.”

”The Claremont is wonderful. The location is great across the street from a wonderful bakery and some nice shops. A short 15 minute walk to campus a short Uber ride from BART and downtown Berkeley or Oakland. Wonderful facilities weight room spa and pool nice food options with a wonderful bay view. The best thing though was the wonderful staff who consistently went out of the way to meet our needs and make us feel welcome. 5/5 stars all the way.”
”Very clean and new hotel building. Rooms are tight but clean and have fridge and microwave oven. Since located in downtown Oakland it can get quite busy in surroundings, though 11th street is somewhat calm area. My room windows were on the street side and it was pretty noisy during nights. If you wear ear plugs it is no big deal. I stayed 10 nights and my room wasn't cleaned for once. Breakfast is okay. Nothing fancy but you get what you need to start your day. I probably wouldn't stay here...
