”Requested an early check in a day in advance. Was told 1:30 "would not be a problem" and room was not ready until 3:30. Breakfast area could not accommodate the number of guests there. Shower drain was plugged, left you in inches of standing water.”

”On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, it was quiet, and the property was well maintained—mostly. On the “needs improvement” side, the hot tub was broken and when we asked a housekeeper about it, she responded “long time”. The breakfast was nicely complete but needs to be replenished in a more timely manner and the tables need to be cleaned more often.”

”This hotel is very out dated. The curtains in our room were ripped. The window casing was broken. Would have liked to have a night table on both sides of the bed. The tub had stains. Toilet seat moved around like it wasn't on tight enough. The breakfast was disappointing. Stayed 3 days in a row and all had some sort of sausage each time, no bacon? ”Excellent location. It was an easy 10-15 minute walk to the Galena historic district, but be prepared for hills. The hotel does have a shuttle, however we did not need to use it. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which was a buffet service set up in the restaurant. We definitely enjoyed our dinner at Frank O'Dowd's, and we understand there is live music on the weekends. There is a cute private walking path behind the hotel, called the Fairy Ring. It's a loop trail that's less than 1 mile....

”Room was clean and pleasant. Desk person unusual, hovered when I was in lobby area waiting to be picked up by friend. English was passable. I checked out early by 2 days and have yet to receive a credit for those days as was charged full 7 days when arrived. Desk person seemed confused when I checked out early as if unsure what to do. Overall , not bad considering choices in area are very slim.”

”We booked this room based on cost and location and that they were pet friendly. Not knowing the area, we were ok with location. However…you can’t control the guests. We barely slept. The hallways and doors closing were loud. Our dog is a silent protector. Meaning she won’t bark but she will not sleep and warn us at any hour by shaking her tags that she aware of something not right. Which was nearly all night. People walking above us. Doors closing. ”The online info indicated the 2 king rooms for myself and my elderly traveling companion were handicapped accessible. I asked the guy on the phone if there were high toilets, grab bars and a shower that you didn't have to step over the edge of a tub into and he said that was the case. I was very clear and specific. When we got to the motel none of that was true. We had low toilets, a tub shower combo, no grab bars and a slippery tub surface. Very disappointing!”

”We arrived at the hotel on Friday. Room was clean. Got up Saturday morning left for the day. Returned in the evening. Our room was not serviced. Called to the front desk and asked why not. We were told because we left the do not disturb sign was on the door. I said no we didn't. The front desk said do you need towels. I said yes we will. He sad he would bring them up right away.
