Majatalot – Berwick-upon-Tweed

”Clean room , comfy bed friendly staff , good breakfast.”

”I was in Rm 4, a small twin with ensuite. The window opened (hood) but unfortunately, right onto the alley where the cooking fan vented. It was quite loud but did stop before bedtime. Breakfast was surprisingly included and very tasty. Did not have dinner as there was nothing small that I wanted to eat. I was later told by a customer that you could order half portions of the main menu items. I didn’t realize this and would have done so. Good drafts on tap, staff were friendly but the room...

”It was very cold and windy the two nights I was there, and the first night the heater wasn’t working. But they provided a space heater and also fixed the radiator heater in my room. They were very accommodating, and all the staff was helpful.”

”Check in was not good. I traveled from a different country and needed wifi to get a code. I had to drive 5 miles to get to a friend to call the owners. The owners were in and out of service so they could only text. When i finally got the proper code. It was 5 flights of steep stairs. It should have been told how many flights of stairs to go with a large suitcase.”

”The room was in need of updating, worn and dirty carpets, shabby draperies.”
