”I stayed alone due to attending an early running event the following morning. I was warmly greeted by the host upon arrival and immediately shown my room which was clean and comfortable. There was a chair, a TV and tea making facilities with an ensuite shower room. The bed was very comfortable and helped deliver a good sleep. Highly recommended, I'll happily return next time I'm in the area.”

”This place shone through because of the owners Carol and Chris. From the moment of check in Carol couldn’t do enough to welcome me and made such an effort at breakfast to accommodate my needs. My room was comfortable and warm and had everything I could need. A little fridge would have been a bonus but with such a fair price I’m definitely not complaining. The location was great too and I was at the beach in no time. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and would recommend to others. ”

”Located just feet from the Portsmouth Harbor train station, good restaurants (especially The Ship Anson) and the historic dockyard where you could spend several days touring the ships and museums. The beds were very comfortable and while there was no AC there was a fan which worked well with an open window to draw in the cool air. Breakfast was good, skip the “brown bread” tastes like saw dust. The room refresh was lacking, we had to request additional coffee, the waste basket was not emptied...

”A most enjoyable, peaceful, one night stay, wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the grounds. We were in one of the oldest, original, parts of the house, but everything was tastefully up to date and very clean. All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly.”

”The hotel looked lovely but unfortunately we didn't get to stay. Turned up to find hotels.com had not passed out booking into hotel so left with nowhere to stay in remote countryside. I'd recommend the eco lodge - staff were lovely but not hotels.com -it took almost a month to get a refund only by going via my bank's anti fraud process.”
