”What a charming place! The hosts are such friendly and helpful people - we really enjoyed meeting them, and you can see how much love they've put in to making their space beautiful and unique. It was also so convenient as a stop on our drive from Cleveland to Boston, with nice restaurants nearby and easy parking.”

”I can't say enough for how much my husband and I enjoyed our stay. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. Our room was clean, housekeeping offered daily. Pool was very clean and tidy. Continental breakfast offered with clean and well tended dining area. This motel reminded me of places I stayed as a kid, very nostalgic. These folks offer true hospitality.”

”When we arrived it felt a bit warm in the lobby. We got to our room and it was 71 in the room after turning the temp down and going to supper the temp had not changed. The lady at the front desk moved us to different room. The temp was 75 in that room, and did not change. We later found out that the a/c was broken in the entire hotel. Apparently it had been broken for a couple of days. The manager continued to rent rooms knowing it was in the 90s during the day. Very poor management and poor...

”Had reservations for 3 nights. Upon arrival, I hit the buzzer several times, with no response. I called the number had for it, received message said to leave a message and will back to me soon. I called 20 minutes later and he hung the phone up with no response”

”The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Coffee was good and breakfast was not bad at all. Parking was very convenient with access close to doors. Has ping pong and corn hole”

”I loved the downstairs and the restaurant. I felt the rooms could use better comforters and decoration. It wouldn’t take much to upgrade them aesthetically. The music stage in front of the lake was not pleasant to look at, but it probably helps their business model.”

”Having been in for the Boilermaker, we found this location to be of good value and within a close proximity to the race. The staff were friendly and accommodating allowing us to come back after the race for a late check out so we could shower. There's a Walmart nearby so it was convenient if we needed anything. Ultimately, we'd be glad to do it all over again next year for the race.”

”AC was effective without being too loud. Hot water came quickly in the shower. Very comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Parked directly outside my room. Just what I needed for a1 night stay.”

”Rooms are not cleaned daily. We stayed two nights and expected the room to be cleaned the morning after the first night. I inquired and was told they only clean rooms every other day.”

”Neat 1800’s hotel. Odd scarcity of people. Beds need replacing. Good pizza and convenience store nearby. Close to Cooperstown.”

”The surrounding area looks economically depressed and we had some initial concerns about safety. Check in was easy. We were provided with two keys for the front door and room door. The house is well maintained and in keeping with original design. We stayed in the wine and roses room which is next door to the kitchen. If you like to sleep in, this is not the room for you due to breakfast noise. The breakfast was good and timely. There was a hot option (bread pudding and chicken and herb sausage)...

”The Grand Colonial is a great choice for a temporary home in the Herkimer area. So rich in American Revolutionary history, the old mansion is an historic relic that is kept up-to-date by its current owners. Mike was our host, and he couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We give it our highest recommendation.”
