”The moment the door of the property opened, I felt like I am looking at a slice of paradise, compared to the views I got on the drive from airport to the property. ”My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed La Finca Azul, and especially the family whose vision it is -- including Nacho, Oli, and Cece, the three dogs. I've stayed in agroturismos in Italy, and this was a very similar experience, complete with the fabulous food. I'm pretty sure Italy doesn't offer swimming by yourself in a mountain stream surrounded by the echoes of howler monkeys. ”

”It rains quite often, so there is always water in the waterfalls, which are quite magnificent. You can handfeed toucans and hummingbirds in the park. In the hotel room's balcony there is a hummingbird feeder so that you can watch them very close. The tour to volcano Poas was a disappointment. The staff advised us to reserve the tour on a previous day, when you have no idea about the weather in the mountain. We didn't see anything there.”
