”Brilliant room -“ D’or “ full of golden antiques and quirky items, felt very luxurious. Spent some time in the hot tub, then on lounger in sun playing peek a boo with tiny geckos! Swimming pool. Lovely rural setting right near the River Loire. Great welcome from host Miriam who produced a cold beer, a glass of cremant ( in the tub!) and a delicious amuse bouche. She made a recommendation for a dinner in a beautiful riverside location. Breakfast was good. What a lovely place to stay. ”

”It was a historic setting in beautiful countryside though the old Chateau was very old and we were put in a musty room with no air circulation. The host was very inhospitable constantly arguing he didn't hear about Vrbo and demanded we pay him in cash even when I showed him Vrbo had withdrawn the money from my credit card account. We left after the first night with him chasing after us trying to force us to go to Daon instead of Chateau Gontier where we were to attend a wedding. ”

”While prepaid, we were never informed this property is permanently closed. We had a very hard time finding it, hours, and when we achieved getting there, the gates were padlocked. We honked and a caretaker came to the gate seeming surprised we were there. “Ferme! Ferme! Finis!” he cried. Showing him the reservation with picture of the chateau, he acknowledged we were at the right place. He made a phone all but still said “Ferme!” We had to find other lodgings and pay again.”
