  • The Basilica of the Holy Blood is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Bruges, Belgium. Originally built in the 12th century as the chapel of the residence of the Count of Flanders, the church houses a venerated relic of the Holy Blood allegedly collected by Joseph of Arimathea and brought from the Holy Land by Thierry of Alsace, Count of Flanders. Beautiful room, but no parking

After reading comments here, got a bit scared. We came by car and picked this hotel because they supposed to have a parking. We'll, they are located in the middle of old town on the square, where you can't even go with a car! So that's very unfortunate that they lie about that. However, there's city parking not far away and we left our car there. There's no reception, you ask for your key in the restaurant. But the room itself is nice! It's spacious and have old chimney, I really like old style and I was happy with the room. So for a romantic trip I think it's a good option.

Nyt on kaikki nähty. Keskeinen sijainti.

Erikiisin huoneratkaisu ikinä! Vanha, hieman jo nuhraantunut hotellihuone. Ulkopuoliset äänet häiritsivät reilusti pitkin yötä (oli lauantaiyö). 1 ikkunaruutu irrotettu pois. Muuten tuplaikkunat Keskeisellä paikalla. Ei erillistä vastaanottoa, ravintolan tarjoilija otti vastaan kaupunkiveromaksun ja sanoi että menkää 1. kerrokseen, huone on valmis. Könysimme hyvin kapeat portaat ison laukun kera ylös kun hissi oli täys siivousvälineitä mm. iso imuri ja ämpäreitä. Avain oli valmiina ovessa. Minibaaria emme löytäneet vaikka hinnasto oli. TV:n äänet ei toiminu, ne pitäisi ohjata kaiuttimen kautta jonka kaukosäädin oli rikki. Oh+mh+ruokailutila+kylpyhuone yhdessä tilassa. Jääkaappi ja kahvinkeitin rappustasolla. Portaat yläkertaan, jonka ovi lukittu. Ilmastointi ei toiminut. Verhot revenneet. Ravintolassa hyvä ruoka ja huippuhyvä henkilökunta.

This place was a palace! I had a two bedroom, two story apartment with a kitchen, living room, huge bathroom and outdoor deck with a view of the Belfry and the Church of Our Lady. From the front I had an amazing view of the Market Square. I was in room #4 and the elevator only went to 3, but staff was happy to assist in bringing my suitcase up the stairs for me. I really couldn't imagine a better hotel and location!

This was possibly the worst place I have ever stayed. It was absolutely nothing like the photos. Although the location was ideal, it was an apartment above a restaurant (which was really hard to find as there is very little signage even on the restaurant.) As there were only two small radiators working for the whole apartment is was terribly cold in most of the rooms (the weather was 20 degrees F outside!) There were times where there was no running water. The microwave and televisions did not work. There is a beautiful bathtub, but not enough hot water to even half fill it. I felt the whole place was only mildly clean. There were small blood stains on the sheets. And finally, we ended up with bug bites.

BED BUGS!! Do not stay here!! Not as advertised. The pictures are not realistic to what you get. Very run down, not clean, and there is no on site parking like advertised. I will stress again, BED BUGS!! You must check in at the bar of their restaurant. The first time we tried to check in they were busy in the restaurant and after waiting 15 mins to check in we told them we would come back. Second time still had to over 10 mins for someone to check us in. Hard to find as well because you don’t realize that the accommodation is above the restaurant as that is never mentioned in the check in instructions. Will never stay here again or recommend anyone stay here. The only good thing is the location and the view of the Cathedral right across the square.

Spacious apartment on the third floor overlooking Markt Square. A perfect place from which to enjoy the historic city of Brugge (Bruges) and its Christmas markets. Unlike many buildings of this age, a small, modern elevator made access relatively easy for us. The apartment was quite well insulated from exterior sound and the bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

It’s such a scandal you still have a collaboration with them. They don’t speak English and they’re bed bugs on a bed, we stayed there for 2 hours and then changed hotel for a much bigger price because of this inconvenience. It impacts your business as I was using Expedia for the first time, never again.

AWFUL AVOID AT ALL COSTS

It has incorrectly listed that it has onsite secured parking, which is false advertising? I would have never booked it if I had known this in the first place as stated before, we were touring Europe on motorbikes and was staying in different countries every night in hotels that had underground secured parking. It doesn’t seem fair that I’m unable to obtain a refund when, I didn’t check in, the male staff member was rude, approached me when I was speaking to a female colleague and asked her “what does he want”. She confirmed I had a hotel reservation and before he even asked for my name or proof of reservation he just replied with “your name isn’t on my phone so you obviously aren’t booked here”. I then proceeded to show him the booking confirmation and he just stated “well it’s not showing on my phone”. At this point I just avoided that conversation and enquired about where the secured parking was as we had travelled from Germany that day and done over 400 miles. Again, the same male staff member was rude, had an attitude and told me that the hotel does not have any onsite secured parking and that we have to leave our highly valuable motorbikes parked in the middle of the market with a load of push bikes. After that I walked away, made contact with hotels.com to obtain a refund due to not checking in. They have refused this and I lost my money. Don’t make the same mistake as I did, the reviews speak for themselves and this hotel needs to take a good look at its standards.

Like being in a movie

I have always wanted to stay in a "luxury" European hotel like the ones you see in movies. This comes as close as I can get on my budget. Large, vintage furnishings, thick drapes, chandelier. It does show it's age in places, but it still felt luxurious and on another level from your standard hotel. I was concerned about it being right on the main square, but Bruges closes right down at night so it was quiet even with the windows open. I would definitely return.

Look at the Google reviews before booking, god knows how the rating on here is so high. The room was dirty, has exposed electric wires, and has bed bugs. This is not a safe place to stay. The people running the place fobbed us off, conveniently no one there was actually in charge. Extremely poor and this place should be removed from Expedia

Cheap stay in Bruges

This apartment is in an excellent position at central Bruges, right next to the Belfort tower and central to the Markt. It is a 3-bedroom apartment (I was unaware of this as head read it was advertised as a 10window apartment overlooking the Markt). The 10 window apartment was impressive with its positioning and was clearly once a very grand apartment. But, it is now a very tired looking and needs a good clean and upgrading. The kitchenette area(very useful for breakfast and coffee) needs a facelift and seems to be stick in the 90s. There was a plug socket hanging off the wall next to the bed and areas where a lick of paint was needed. The bathroom had been updated and was nice, but needed a good scrub. Cleanliness was mainly superficial The two other double bedrooms were looking a little tired and carpet in the hallway needs to be changed. The strangest discovery was a drawer with various items and a cast iron chair in the seating area… There is a restaurant downstairs, but we didn’t eat there. Would I go back- not in its current state. With an upgrade, yes as it was so convenient and not noisy considering its central location.

You can tell this once was a very nice hotel. It has a lot of nice details in the room. Like a beautiful bathtub and the bathroom sinks. There are to many closest and cabinets. There are so many strange holes here and there. It seems impossible to clean because of the strangeness. The sofas are disgusting. They have cheap blankets laid over them. The decorating is terrible. There are fur table cloths. There are insects. There was nothing wrong with the beds and we did not get any bites. There was a nice terrace but needed some cleaning. With minimal efforts and costs of somebody with cleaning and decor abilities the room could easily get muuuch better. The staff were friendly.
