”The Gables is a quiet, charmingly updated 19-century home in the heart of Rhinebeck, NY. Managers John and Pamela Wurster are not only genuinely welcoming, but they treated us to some of the best coffee and croissants we’ve ever had—plus some fresh summer plums! The lovely white picket fence-enclosed yard is filled with flowers, birds, and happy squirrels and chipmunks—and great restaurants and fun shops are just a 5- to 10-min walk away.”

I guess I should have checked the restaurant hours before booking. Most of the town had businesses that were closed in the middle of the week, so just be aware when you book. The person working the desk recommended a restaurant outside of town and it was good. There was no one at the front desk when we checked out early in the morning. The sign...

”This is a large inn in a remote rural area. I spent three nights in the inn. My biggest complaint is the food service. There’s a restaurant affiliated to the Inn. The food options are very limited. I ordered six chicken wings and found out inside the wing is cold and the wind is not even fully cooked. It took them some time for the replacement. This time they did it right.”

”The room was musty and the carpet was old and made me not want to take my shoes off. I’m mildly allergic to dust and mold and I was stuffed up after an hour. We tried the AC and it was very loud, so we turned it off and left a window open (only one was able to stay open). Otherwise the rest was fine, just needs major updating.”

”The only truth that's represented in their offering online is the beautiful location beyond that the quarters are not suitable nor appropriate to what they're claiming or particular charging to stay there. This is not being properly presented online and really should be removed from the site until such time they deliver what they claim. I'm very disappointed and unfortunately this rebuke is minor to what other occupants verbally comport.”
