The unit was very spacious and comfortable, all of the AC’s worked nicely. The kitchen was well kept and the view is amazing. The food at the hotel restaurant and rounding areas were very good and affordable. The pool was always clean. The service at the hotel and at the restaurant were very good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The view is absolutely amazing. I would go back to velero beach resort for sure 10 out of 10. The only thing I didn’t like was the stairs we had to take to go up to the 3rd floor, you get all wet if it rains.

I was concerned about this being on the far end of the beach. However, it turned out to be perfect! All places you need to walk to are 10 minutes or less. Yet, it is away from all the noise. The cook-to-order breakfast is a big plus as well. Great updated rooms too. Lots of space and options. If I make any plans to return to the Puerto Plata area, I would absolutely choose this property.

Hotel is very well kept. Loved everything in the new remodeled room. Restaurant service was excellent and very friendly staff. This is my favorite hotel at Cabarete Beach.

I would stay here again. The staff is helpful. The breakfast was fine. The location is convenient to the main shops, other restaurants, and the beach. The view from the room is excellent. The pool area is very clean and serves as an excellent place to lounge and relax. One downfall is the beach. While the hotel does have beach access, you have to walk 3 minutes or so to find a decent place to enjoy the beach.

I've stayed here many times and the rooms are always a little different. Most of the rooms have old TV 's and refrigerators. The walkway from the parking lot to the rooms is dark. The free breakfast is fair and the coffee is aweful. The staff are friendly and the rooms are very clean. Not worth $120/night; okay at $50/night.

Feb 12-26 ,a 2 week stay. Pros: Beautiful pool area, very friendly staff, well kept grounds with beautiful fauna , clean certified drinking water, delicious food at The Sunset Grill, with a complimentary delicious breakfast menu ( Tortilla omelette!! large spacious rooms and bathrooms, daily pool towel exchange ,large windows which opened,Amazon Prime worked for our one rainy day, convenient Janets Groceries was a 5 min walk down the street ( mini Walmart) AC worked , 7 min walk to the Cabarete beach front Cons: Large bed had a large wooden seating area all the way around, making it uncomfortable to get in and out of , rooms not soundproof, our standard King didn't have a balcony making it hard to enjoy the mornings more, or drying wet clothes ,CAREFUL of fire ants in the grass ( i was stung multiple times after the lawn was moved Very steep winding staircases to our 3 rd floor ( not mobile-friendly)No easy beach access.( dangerous & narrow cement “ path”without steps nor a railing ,limited seating at the Sunset Grill which locals & other resort guests also enjoyed , MANY local street vendors and beggars on the beach hounded us all day long even while at dinner. TIPS:transportation from airport is $40 USD to Velero.Visit Sosua ( we had an incredible meal at the Haitian beachfront restaurant). Walk to the Godess Restaurant, live music Fridays) great takeout pizza “Call A pizza” bring cooler pack to beach or reserve a suite with kitchen ENJOY!

This property is beachfront with great views from your room. The bathroom is upgraded which is nice . The shower is huge and the balcony is prefect for looking out and enjoying the view. They do not have room service as advertised. The food at the restaurant is okay. Breakfast is included but space can get filled up quickly, but you can always make a to go order. The staff are very nice.

We had a great stay and enjoyed the beautiful view and comfortable accommodations. The restaurant staff were attentive and professional and the food was delicious. We would not recommend families to come here as the crowd is a lot older and children will be limited in their enjoyment. Overall a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of this magical country.

Best hotel in Cabarete
Wonderful as always. In my opinion, Velero Beach is the best hotel in Cabarete, and I have to say that the restaurant got better and better in the last year. Now all the meals me and my friends tried were delicious.

I enjoyed the stay there about 5 minutes walking distance to Cabarete Beach , Food on resort was 8.5 out of 10 but place itself was a great stay. The are super nice and friendly.

I just got back from an amazing week at the Velero Beach Resort and will most definitely be returning in the future! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the grounds were amazingly kept.
