Discover The Fern, a cozy retreat nestled on 40+ acres in the heart of Red River Gorge and Daniel Boone National Forest. Surrounded by trails, farm animals, and the Gathering Grove play space, this tucked-away cabin offers the perfect balance of rustic simplicity and modern comforts. Just minutes from world-class hiking, climbing, and local dining, The Fern is an intimate escape designed for couples or solo travelers seeking rest, adventure, and a touch of whimsy.



With serene views from two private balconies, a cozy gas fireplace, and a restful loft bedroom, The Fern feels like elevated camping—where glamping meets the charm of Red River Gorge.



Kitchenette + Dining



While The Fern does not have a full stove, it’s thoughtfully equipped with everything you need to prepare simple meals and snacks. Amenities include a microwave, mini fridge and freezer, toaster oven, coffee pot, toaster, and blender. Outside, enjoy your private charcoal grill for open-air cooking. Gather indoors at the small seating area or take your meals out to the balconies for fresh mountain air and stunning views.

Designed to accommodate up to two guests, The Fern is ideal for couples or solo adventurers:

  • Standing under the Natural Bridge in Slade Kentucky. Its namesake natural bridge is the centerpiece of the park. The natural sandstone arch spans 78 ft (24 m) and is 65 ft (20 m) high. The natural process of weathering formed the arch over millions of years. The park is approximately 2,300 acres (9 km2) of which approximately 1,200 acres (5 km2) is dedicated by the Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves as a nature preserve. #Nature

  • This is sky bridge. The most massive arch in Red River. it spans over a hundred feet and about 50 feet in the air. Probably the most famous arch in Red River, it has been seen in movies. Many astro-photographers flock here because of it's structure and clear skyline. If you get a chance, the trail is only .8 miles and very much worth it. You first walk across the top of the arch, it is so big that you are halfway across before you notice your not just on a narrow rock path. then you circle around to be under the arch.

Fantastic Stay!

This stay was absolutely fantastic! Lauren was a great host and really thought of all the details. She was super quick to respond to questions and left farm goods for us in our cabin. Location is super close to the park as well. Also, their dogs are so friendly. Couldn’t recommend more
