Needing a rural place to get away? This cozy 3 bedroom, 2 bath house that sleeps 6 has a front row seat to the beauty of The Ohio River. Relax on our deck, relax river side by the outdoor fire pit, or watch the barge traffic from inside. The house sits within minutes of The Hoosier National Forest offering hiking / fishing and a peaceful atmosphere, 50 minutes from Holiday World, and 55 minutes from French Lick. (WIFI, NO WATER ACCESS)

This was the perfect location. Quiet and remote. Watched barges go by. Got to see one riverboat. Several locals out in their boats. This was one of our favorite cabins. So relaxing. Great Stay
We had a great stay! The cabin is off the beaten path, but that’s what makes it so perfect! Very very quiet and peaceful with beautiful views. Lots of room to spread out. About an hour drive to Holiday World. We saw lots of deer and turkey on our way to/from Holiday World.

This cabin exceeded my expectations. The views were even better than pictures. Check in was easy. There were lots of nice touches. I was happy to see several fuzzy lap blankets because I forgot mine. There was plenty of seating in the living space on the main floor and in the walkout basement. The porch was relaxing with lots of nice places to sit, including a porch swing and rockers. We also had a fire ring where we roasted marshmallows. Nice comfortable chairs around the fire ring and a picnic table. We even found roasting sticks! We found corn hole boards and played a couple of games. Although we didn't need it, the gates for the stairs could make a family with young kids so much more secure. There is a boat dock just before the cabin. Had we known that, we would have loved to bring our boat. We have really only seen the Cincinnati River on the Ohio side. We have a whole different opinion of the river now. It was lovely and looked as nice as a lake. We watched barges and lots of pontoon and speed boats having the times of their lives. We came with enough food for the weekend, with no intentions of leaving until it was time to go. We were not disappointed. My friends saw my pictures and now they want to come back with us. Shout out to the owner. You have a lovely property.

Spent two nights with my 88 yo mother who once had a place on the river and has mentioned several times how much she enjoyed those days. She loved the cabin and especially the view. She spent most of her time on the deck. If you're looking for a peaceful vacation, this is it!

The property was beautiful. Very clean and well stocked. Enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the barges. Only sounds you hear are the birds singing. Due to the area, we could not always get phone reception. Overall, we had a wonderful time.

Great Glamping!
We stayed for 2 days. Brought steaks and other goodies to grill. We enjoyed the view from the deck. We refilled the hummingbird feeder and enjoyed the many visitors. We've never heard a hummingbird chirp! It was a nice quiet getaway to reset and recharge. We'll be back next time we want a quiet getaway.

Southern Indiana cabin on the Ohio river. (Cannelton, Indiana)
This is quite the place, a log cabin right on the bank of the Ohio River. This property is off the “beaten path” and very remote. The rental is very rustic looking, yet has all the amenities we could ask for; WiFi, air conditioning, stove, dishwasher, and comfortable furniture. It is truly a gem. My only thought is that the WiFi didn’t connect well in the “far reaches” of the master bedroom. I would get a eero or something that extends the WiFi reach; other than that, the master bedroom has a California king bed, which we liked. There are a total of 3 bedrooms. There is a bathroom on the main floor, connected to the master bedroom, and one in the upstairs area., connected to the bedroom, upstairs. The inside was designed well. The fire pit, outside, was a nice feature. The owner provided a limited amount of firewood. If you want more, you will have to bring your own or buy it locally. The covered porch, porch swing, and chairs, are heavy duty, and very good quality. We had no disappointments. This is a very nice place and would like to visit again sometime.

Big Timber was perfect for our large group!
We are repeat guests to Big Timber, after our first visit in 2019 we knew we would be back! This time we brought some more friends and our group rented a total of 4 VRBOs that worked perfectly! Big Timber ended up being the meeting point for the group with the wonderful fire pit, central location and perfect floor plan. Bonnie and Chad were absolutely wonderful hosts and their communication was far and above expectations! This would be the perfect destination for a family reunion, friend get together or experience the Kentucky Derby like our group did!!

Joy on the Ohio River
First the cabin couldn't have been nicer. Everything was furnished with high-end furniture, kitchen items and linens. The view was spectacular. The Ohio River in all her glory was right there, visible from the windows surrounding the back and side of the cabin and oh the deck! We were treated to many barges going up and down the river. We even managed, this late in the season, one houseboat. Our hosted paid so much attention to detail. From everything being exceptionally clean to the sets of towels for each of us done up with shower needs and all tied up in a raffy bow. This was such a wonderful way to celebrate 20 years of marriage. Thank you
