”We loved Awelon really well furnished and everything you could need supplied The courtyard needs some TLC it could be so pretty The1 downside was the outside bin it was full to overflowing when we arrived and very smelly due to the warm temperatures I did email hoping that it could emptied but nothing was done My husband had to push the rubbish down to enable us to use it Kind regards Glenys”

”We loved our time here. Although the weather wasn’t great, we enjoyed wonderful walks on the beach - particularly crossing the bridge to Barmouth. The hills behind the house are beautiful too, and the whole area is just lovely. The hot tub was great and we enjoyed the novelty of having a record player - so much so that we’ve come home and bought one! I left something behind and Eloise kindly offered to post it back to me too. We’d definitely return!”

”Was a great stay and Claire was was a wonderful host! We rolled in late in the afternoon and had a comfy nap before roaming for dinner. Breakfast was great and the space is so well curated! And Claire love LEGO and there are a few builds on display which scored major points with me! Hehehe Highly recommend!”

”Accommodation is in well furnished self catering or modern rooms. This is not a hotel. Access and parking is convoluted and is not ideal for those with mobility problems. Rooms are accessed via a staircase. Room to room noise is evident and Saturday night is lively across the road until midnight. Breakfast is served at the 1176 restaurant and is very good with friendly staff and good locally sourced ingredients. There is nearby street parking for blue badge holders but would not recommend...

”No available food on a Monday and no restaurant in use for evening meals Staff all excellent and helpful and bar food was very good Noise from room above us was disappointing and sounded like people walking on bare floorboards Overall the hotel was good to very good”

”Good acomodation booked in with the new property owner Kurt, we were the second transaction made on his hotel account, chap by the bar beat us to no 1 position by a matter of minutes, Kurt had recently bought the Castle Hotel friday the 1st of September was his first day so basically hit the road running! He explained theres going to be big changes / improvements over the coming months so watch the space, as a New Zealander the bar area is going to be a sport bar area with some great rugby...
