”The ideal base for our Connemara adventure. We had a great time exploring the region. Last there as a child I had no recollection of the stunning scenery either along the coast or amongst the mountain passes. We had some lovely days and I even managed a swim in sea near Roundstone. This home on the shores of Lough Corrib was the ideal base, spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Nearby Oughterard is an attractive little town having all we needed in terms of provisions. Galway has grown...

”Beautiful, spacious property. Practical Details for Americans: they have a water kettle not a coffee pot, so purchase instant or bag coffee before you come, not beans or ground. They have a washer and dryer. You need to bring pods and be aware, it's a condenser dryer that takes about 2 hours to dry a verysmall load (5-6 items). Be sure to empty the dryer water tank. It's muddy on the property, so bring slippers or alternate shoes plus something to put your shoes in to protect your suitcase....

”We had a great stay, weather very mixed and appreciated Railway Cottage being warm and cosy. Oughterard was a great base foe exploring and provided all we needed - Sullivan's cinnamon buns are addictive! Thanks to Joe for info about the area and Carmel for the scones. ”We took a 30th girls trip and the owners made our stay so memorable. They were so nice and were more than happy to talk to us! ”This was a wonderful little getaway! Rory was super communicative and sent a wonderful list of things to do nearby! We checked out the pub he recommended Powers and it was phenomenal! The little barn was so cute and we felt right at home immediately. ”
