”Centrally located in the Old Port, with views of the harbor, this was a last minute — therefore pricey — excellent find for a fall weekend getaway. Stylish, elegant rehab of 19th century granite industrial building. Whimsical decor notes referring to 19th century owner Evalina Fox. Nicely appointed kitchenette — though if you came to Portland for the foodie scene, you might end up just using it for breakfast, as we did. Only sour note was the disco music (coming in via the ventilation...

”We loved everything. The only thing is the mattress is a little soft and you easily roll to the middle!”

”room was very modern, however some areas did not look well cleaned (edge if the bed had some dried white liquid). the surrounding area has nice shops but is very sketchy at night. did not feel comfortable with the parking situation. also at 6am sounded like maintenance or cleaning crew was constantly in and out of the elevator making tons of noise. was good for a night but wouldnt stay again.”

”This was a super cute boutique inn and the location was ideal. The staff was super friendly!”

”Very lovely boutique hotel in downtown Portland, Maine. Small rooms, and there is no storage, so you have to live out of your suitcase for a couple of days. And there is no table and only one chair so that’s a negative, if you want to work in your room or have room service, there’s nowhere to sit and eat. The walk-in range shower is great, bathroom is lovely, but the water pressure in the bathroom sink is terrible. But overall, a lovely hotel, if I stayed again, probably just for one night. They...

”Perfect location in Old Port- everything was walkable from the hotel. Room was spacious and very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would 100% stay at Canopy again!”

”Excellent stay! We were welcomed with complimentary blueberry wine and the concierge helped carry our bags to our room. Noting that they told us we'd receive a text with a link to order breakfast food, and we never received anything. Had to go down the street to purchase breakfast!”

”Super hotel in walking distance to everything downtown”

”The problem with this property is they charged me $35 and told me I had to spend it either in their restaurant or vending store. I had no choice. Second I was not given a choice if I wanted to self park in a public parking so they charged me $45. I was shocked! This was worse place on our two week trip to New England.”

”Hotel was centrally located and easily accessible and rooms are well equipped. As the hotel is in the centre, sounds from the street (especially during the night time) were quite loud (as there are many bars and karaoke places in the neighborhood). Our rooms were on the second floor, we had a hard time sleeping (It is advisable to request for rooms upstairs). In general, the staff members (Reception and Bar/restaurant) very nice and friendly. What shocked us (and what reduced the overall...
