I'm writing this review based more on the host than the property at Deerpark. We had booked the Deerpark location, but the morning we were to check-in, we received a message indicating that we've been moved to a different rental location due to a 'plumbing issue at Deerpark'. We were assured by Justin that the new location would be better: more room, a big backyard, etc.
Upon checking in, it was bigger, but certainly not better. This place was dated and in need of several repairs. The carpet was old, floorboards/stairs sagging, windows were missing the lever to open them, one of the beds had broken supports, and 2 of the 3 toilets had issues. We were also travelling with a senior with limited mobility, so having the bedrooms all upstairs was of concern.
When we contacted to Justin to ask about these concerns, and to see if the plumbing issue at Deerpark was resolved, he became defensive about his property. His response to using one of the broken toilets was to "take a butter knife and press down". He also directed the person with mobility issues to use the main level bathroom, which didn't make any sense as he'd be staying in a room in the upper level.
Justin also mentioned that the Deerpark plumbing issue was resolved around 4pm, and somehow he already had guests fully moved into Deerpark prior to 6pm. We found this very strange, and upon reading other reviews of the new place, many have experienced the same 'bait and switch' routine, and had similar issues with the house
