Great setup!
Lisa spared no expense with this home. Fantastic set of appliances in the kitchen, bathrooms, living room, and even the bedrooms! There is an absolutely giant television in the living room and a very cool 3D TV in the kids room with plenty of 3D DVDs and Blu-Rays. Beach toys are also supplied. All you need to do is show up! As with most of the places at the Dunes, you're steps away from the beach. Overall, a fantastic place for a family stay.

Absolutely amazing location
We had the most amazing time here! The beach was literally steps away, and the whole neighborhood is so quiet and isolated. The view from the big glass windows was serene. Lisa was great and fast with communication. Her place is so well stocked with everything we needed and more - stuff for babies, artichoke steamers, beach towels and chairs, binoculars, everything you would need! My kids loved the 3D tv with glasses and good assortment of movies. We didn’t use the steam shower, but it sounded amazing! Having access to the property’s amenities was great - pool, hot tub, sand volleyball court, tennis courts, bocce ball court. All the beds were sleep number beds and can be adjusted to your comfort. We really enjoyed our time here - you cannot get a better location if you tried! We hope to be back again soon!

Fantastic beach property

Wonderful escape
The house was generally wonderful and I review it more generally below, but begin with the natural history/biologist’s perspective. The location was beautiful, right on the beach in a lovely and intact sand dune system (i.e., native plants mostly in place, not *yet* overrun by European beach grass or ice plant). The beach is bordered to the south and north by the mouth of the Salinas River and Elkhorn Slough, respectively. Walks on the beach and nature walks in the dunes and nearby estuaries were spectacular. If that isn’t your cup of tea, just kicking back with a cocktail watching the breakers, cooking in the kitchen, hanging in the hot tub etc is choice as well. :). We saw dolphins, surf scoters, and pelicans actively feeding in the surf zone. The owner was very friendly and responsive. House very comfy, warm, and clean. The kitchen is very well supplied for a vrbo: great utensils, just about every appliance one could need (large toadter oven, blender, croc pot, etc…). We cooked from scratch and found all the tools we needed. We had a wonderful time :).

Amazing stay!
We enjoyed staying at this property so much! They have thought of all The details to make sure that their guests have an enjoyable stay. The accommodations were amazing and the view was phenomenal. The owners were so gracious. They even left us a bottle of wine and a gift for my mom’s birthday. They were so accommodating and thoughtful. The rental was clean and comfortable. I couldn’t have asked for a better rental.

Wonderful Experience in a Great Location
We three sisters had a wonderful stay. The location and views were terrific. We saw whale spouts multiple times, one group of dolphins, some sea otters and seals plus bird species galore-all from the home's living room & dining area windows. The home's kitchen was well-stocked, the beds comfortable, the bathrooms luxurious, the instructions complete. We are not techie people, and the person in the room with the lululemon mirror for workouts was taken aback, having not even touched it, to find that it somehow went on at 4am one night (only), but those that are will find an abundance of remarkable things throughout the house. The availability of the free passes for the Monterey Bay Aquarium was a great bonus and there was a bottle of wine on the table to welcome us. We'd stay again.

The property is very very nice. This was our 7th year in a row staying at the Colony Dunes and our 1st time staying at this condo. By comparison, this property is superior to others by far. Comfortable, updated, very close to beach, and our host Lisa was the best!! Very accessible and responsive to our questions. We look forward to staying here again. Rocky

We absolutely loved a place big enough for our family of 5 and the amenities were quite special. The location is out there a little ways, but that seclusion is not a bad thing. Overall, we had a fantastic stay. Loved the experience and would return.

Family Retreat
We had such a great time. The property was exactly how it was described. Had such great amenities. Each room had a "number" bed mattress (best sleep). The ocean views were magnificent. My sisters enjoyed walking along the beach and horseback riding. It was easy to check-in and out, Lisa was quick in responding to our request. We will definitely return next year.

Family vacation to California. The house was perfect. A lot of unique perks from the aquarium passes to the steam shower. We were close enough to grocery and restaurants but the property is extremely private. You drive by artichoke fields until pulling up to the driveway and there are unique and beautiful surrounding dunes and wildflowers. We hiked Big Sur one of the days. Check in and communication were flawless and VERY prompt.

Amazing view and hospitality in the beautiful Monterey Dunes
Monterey Dunes is a very special place. Peaceful, beautiful, and pristine. While we've been to Monterey Dunes many times, this was our first time in this house. The view of the ocean, beach, and breaking waves is breathtaking. The house was very comfortable for our party of six. We enjoyed walks on the beach, basketball, bocce ball, and food from the surrounding spots in Castroville and Moss Landing. The host was incredibly accommodating and welcoming. Communication was fast. We had a wonderful weekend and I highly recommend this home for a rejuvenating weekend or vacation away.

Wonderfully Close to the Ocean
If you're looking for a stay next to the water this is perfect! Communication was great, instructions clear and details galore. Wonderful spot to get away and watch the waves! It was smaller than we'd expected from the photos, some minor things we noticed needed touching up/repair, but they wouldn't detour us from staying here again. This has three levels so, if someone in your party is unable to do stairs this may not be the spot for you, for us it was fine. Kitchen has induction stove (new for us). We enjoyed our stay, loved driving through the artichoke fields and it's close enough to Monterey for dinner. Host provides passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium if you'd like as well.

Fantastic home just steps from beach. Had a great time relaxing, walking on beach and using clubhouse facilities ( tennis, heated pool, jacuzzi). The home is well-appointed and communication with host is great. Enjoyed wildlife viewing in nearby Elkhorn Slough and quick trip into Monterey. A great place to relax!

Weekend stay!
Had a great experience at Monterey Dunes, so convenient to Monterey/Carmel by the Sea. We had an amazing drive down 17 mile drive, brunch at The Mission Ranch, lunch at London Bridge Pub, and then a short boat ride out to sea! We enjoyed riding horses which we conveniently were able to reserve right down from The Dunes, and then enjoyed a bit of tennis and a quick dip in the beautiful pool. The accommodations was exactly as pictured; loved the steam shower, a night time fire, a fully stocked kitchen and the view out to the ocean was beautiful (especially the sunsets). Thanks for a great stay!

Absolutely the best vacation we have had in a long time. Lisa was the best communicator when I had questions. This is the perfect place for a home base while spending time in Monterey at the Aquarium (20 min), driving to the boardwalk in Santa Cruz (1 hour), or Gilroy Gardens (50 minutes). The walk to the beach is so close. We were able to make our favorite meals with the well-stocked pots and pans needed in the kitchen. The Granddaughters loved the fun plates – pink bunny and green panda. The best part was the private beach, the searching for shells and watching sunsets as a family on the beach.

Secluded Beach Getaway!
We loved our stay at this beach house. Lisa is a great communicator and I never stressed about anything because she would answer right away. There are two guest passes to the aquarium too! There are tons of kids toys, board games, sand toys, and sport toys (tennis rackets etc) so you have everything you need to have a great time. There are also sand chairs and towels for the beach. The biggest perk is how close you are to the beach making it easy to enjoy and then take breaks as needed. The kitchen also was stocked with kitchen utensils etc for cooking. Each bedroom has a smart tv so that every guest can watch their own shows in their room. Mostly, we just enjoyed eating chips and guacamole from the patio as we watched the waves and scouted for dolphins offshore. Hoping to one day get to do it again. Thanks to Lisa for being a great host and allowing us to stay at her place!

Family vacation
We rented this home as a getaway to be near the aquarium but away from the bustle of Monterey proper. It was the perfect location. Exceptionally easy access to the highway, five minutes from Phil’s fish house and beautiful views. The waves were a bit aggressive to even let my 14 year old play in but there was a pool, spa, tennis courts and a bunch of other activities to keep us entertained. We even had an instacart delivery there :)

Perfect respite
We absolutely loved the place. It was seconds from the beach. Everything was well stocked - from kitchen appliances (we cooked all our meals, even grilled), towels, and beach/outside essentials. If you wanted to play tennis or volley ball or bocce ....that was only a short walk. (We brought our rackets and balls - but their was no need, the house came fully equipped!) Our family is multi generational and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time and always had something to do. There was even a closet of games for the older kids and toys for the younger children! Inside the house - there were instructions everywhere and to everything. Making life even more simpler. The best of course is the view and beach. It was perfect, i would love to go back alone and just reflect. The place is definitely pricier than most, and i would probably say could use some upgrading since the house is older (but they may be on their way, since the bathrooms have been recently remodeled).

This condo is wonderfully close to the beach, great for children and adults alike. It is our second stay and the owners consistently maintain the property. It is close enough to Monterey/Carmel, but remote enough that you feel alone on the beach! Wonderful get away.

We had a wonderful stay at Lisa’s beach house. The view is amazing!!! We’ve seen lot of whales and birds from the window. The house was super clean and very well equipped.
